Link to ARC?!
You have to link your Steam account to ARC to play NW? What's this about?

Not sure, when I link my account I have none of my characters.
For example, if you have codes you want to redeem even though you play through Steam, it you would want to link your account to it in order for them to be any good.

NO. I launch the game via steam and have always used ARC to redeem codes and never had a problem.

All steam does is take you to the official game launcher and from that point you're playing just the same as someone that doesn't use steam to launch the game.

That's the million dollar question on most of the game forums right now.

The only thing I can think of is I have seen various posts from those crying how they have to enter their game username and password into the official launcher even though they've logged into steam. And from the pop up I just saw when I launched STO it said that I wouldn't have to do that anymore after linking.

If THAT's their reason than I'm not for it.

not needed that is just so you can auto login to launcher and for when you buy items on steam

Ah, okay, I see where you're getting at now. I hate to break it to you, but it is becoming a common practice with publishers now... and not just for MMO's. Cyberpunk 2077, for example, also comes with it's own launcher. I expect this is something we will see become more common with Steam.

Same thing with mine...I had a level 76 character and she's just gone. I am so upset, I can't seem to find anything to fix this. I've been logging in regularly just not since the overhaul. Its like all account data just got blown away...

I'm not sure if this thread is still gonna work but.... here goes.

I started playing the game with Steam right after MOD 22, I didn't have an ARC account earlier. I wanted to redeem some rewards, so I HAD to create an ARC account.
There is no way of linking it whatsover and there are 2 different accounts right now.

If you want to use steam you HAVE to create the ARC account FIRST and then do the steam download so you can link it to your existing ARC account.

Otherwise steam creates a brand new ARC account for you and you won't have a clue of the username or password to get into it. (now if you're a brand new player it really won't matter)

Now if you have an existing swtor account this is very bad as the new neverwinter (ARC) account won't have any of your old characters.

What you can do is go to the neverwinter page and some where after you log onto the page there's a spot to unlink your account. Then you can go back to steam and link it to the correct one.

One good spot is you don't have to use the ARC panel to redeed promo codes as there's also a website address you can use. You log in there, it'll send a code to your email and once that's entered you can redeem the promo code.

I don't have a SWTOR account. Is there any way around that?

Also, you mentioned a website that sends an email. I created two accounts, as I previously stated and due to steam not disclosing any information about the account it itself created, I ended up having the two with the same email ID. Will that be an issue?

Also, could you please share the website address.
Because if you are talking about Arc's website the same problem comes up of not having the Steam account's credentials

Sorry I typed the wrong game. This will explain it better: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter/news/detail/11252913-redeeming-codes-for-neverwinter#:~:text=Go%20to%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww,logged%20into%20the%20website!)

I don't know if having 2 accounts with the same email will matter or not, but I do know if you don't know the arc user name and password you're screwed PERIOD.

What you'll need to do is google 'how do I find my arc user name and password'. I think there's a spot on the general arc page you can send in a ticket and ask, but google as someone else brought that up on these forums so the answer is out there.
