How do I F2p this game
Hey everyone.

I redownloaded this game because when I first played it I thought it was fun and a guide/review of this game mentioned your actually able to get all the add-ons ect without having to pay money.

I play alot of other games completely f2p (magic the gathering arena, Hearthstone, POE ect) so I dont mind the grind if it actually can get all the content for free.

Does anyone have any tips or an helpfull guide on how to approach f2p in this game?

Like what goods do I save, should I save my money, which items? ect.

Any helpfull tips and tricks on getting my f2p career started would be very much appriciated!

All the content is free. The catch is that getting the best gear requires either a lot of grinding or spending some actual $$$. Let's say you want one of the best items in the game. Do you grind for 100 days to earn 10.000.000 AD, or do you spend money to buy Zen to convert to AD to buy it right away?

Your choice - but think of the game as having a "pay-for-convenience" or "pay-to-avoid-grind" business model.

Some general suggestions:

0) Join a good guild and ask for advice.

1) Make maximum use of events

There are occasionally special events, which give "free" rewards that are equal to items that otherwise would be quite expensive.

For example, the Winter Festival, Summer Festival and the Neverwinter siege event allow you to collect tokens (if you participate every day) which you can use to buy things like good mounts. The siege event allows you to earn a Siegebreaker griffon, which is a fast mount. It also has insignia "slots", and with the right set of insignia you can select "Wanderer's Fortune", which will give you a constant supply of refinement stones.

The siege event also gives you Quartermaster's Enchants, which you will want to put in some of your utility slots (have some dragon' hoard and fey blessing enchants too). This will mean a constant stream of drops of things like [Spoils of War]. Collect those, and any other containers/boxes you get that contain enchantments. When there is a "2 x Refinement stone" event, open all those boxes (some special rules apply regarding the minimum level of quartermaster enchants you want to have at that time), to get double number of stones.

Also always make the best use of any "2x" events. You can check the calendar to see which events are coming up soon.

2) Always pick up green trash and convert to RP (or sell for gold, if you need gold). Always sell anything that is identified as "treasure". For blue quality random drops that you cannot use, convert to RP or sell on AH if the AH price is higher.

3) Right now, crafting is not profitable - however, that may change with Mod 17 around the end of the year. If that's your thing, you need to prepare.

4) As you progress, more and more random queues will open up. Run them for the AD - eventually you can reach 100.000 rAD per day, which is the maximum you can refine to AD.

5) There are several weekly quests (Arcane Reservoir, Ballad of Baphomet, etc) that give you a "free" chunk of AD once per week. It's basically free money...always do those.

6) If you get a decent random drop (like an unbound companion or artifact),sell it, unless it would be of significant benefit to you.

7) Playing the AH is the most profitable activity in the game, but you need to be thoroughly familiar with price swings in the game. As a general rule, though, if a temporary event causes a increase in the availability of some desirable item, prices will go down - sometimes you can buy at that price and sell for a 100% profit a few months later.

Having said all this, I do actually recommend spending a little bit of $$$ on the game at the very start ... just enough to give you a few levels of VIP. You can earn that back eventually, just through the daily lockbox keys, but the QoL benefits make playing just a lot more enjoyable.
