Neverwinter launcher error. Help

So I opened steam in hopes to play Neverwinter for the first time. I downloaded earlier in the day and was going to play it now. But after I tried booting up the launcher it gave me an error.


Error: Unable to authenticate: Couldn't fetch steam ticket (2)

This is really annoying me cause I just downloaded the whole 20 gb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

I have the same error too as do many others. This is a bug created from the new patch. I created a thread on the Arc forums and many others with Steam accounts are having this issue. Cryptic is right now getting flooded with traffic with people sending tickets because they are all having this problem. My advice is to check the forums there and wait for the devs to fix the issue in the next few days or so.

I would recommend you don't. The more the devs see that it is a major problem the more likely they will get on to fixing it.

Thank you both. I don't have an Arc account, but will get one. I am worried about having set up a Steam account first and getting them to link up because I have read that is an issue... Anyway, thank you!

Update: Perhaps its on NW side too, but I just saw a report counter showing over 60k reports so far today for steam being down. I can't play anything online at all for any game so it may be a steam thing..

I don't have any insight as to why this happen or any other additional info... just to add that It happen to me too.

I was able to get back on. This doesn't seem like it was a issue on Cryptic side but rather Steams. A lot of other people from different MMO's and Online games have been saying that they were unable to log into any launchers that linked to their Steam accounts. The North American Steam servers were down all day due to some issue with maintenance.

Thanks for your help guys! I guess I'll just wait until they fix it. Or I'll try to make it work again today.

Update - Just tried to boot it up and it worked! I guess they fixed at least for now. I'll keep this up in case anyone has any other problems. :D

i just downloaded it and on the first loading screen the game crashes
