Neverwinter

What should I prioritize when spending real money?
Hi guys, I just found a gift card that I got for selling a bunch of cigars and I'm planning on spending it on this game because it turns out I like it. What is the best thing to prioritize spending on?

I got the Dragonborn expansion with a coupon but I read that the other packs aren't worth buying, so should I just change all of my Zen into Astral Diamonds? In that case, should I prioritize upgrading my weapon/armor? Enchants, BiS mount, etc.?

I already have a Legendary BiS companion, so I don't think I need to upgrade that.

Only one answer to this. VIP first above everything.

First priority, get VIP. If you pick a good lockbox to open and sell the contents it will basically pay for itself, and it will give you a massive QoL improvement, in particular from level 7 and up.

Second, if you play multiple characters, I would next consider an account-wide purple mount - if you play a single character, work towards getting a suitable legendary mount.

Third, bags.

If you are a patient person, you might want to wait until the next big Zen store discount (Black Friday, probably), and then buy something that is in constant demand, like Wards, wait a few months and then sell them again for a nice profit.

And yes, you can convert some of the Zen to AD - you are going to need to buy stuff from the Bazaar, for example, and maybe artifacts. As for armor, weapon and refinement points, you should be farming that stuff, not buying.

Thank you for the responses guys. I got a major coupon with one of the invocation rewards and I used it to get me to level 8 VIP. So my last question is with the legendary mount that you were talking about. Tenser's Disk is BiS for my job, but it's like 14 million AD, which is like 28000 Zen. I have it, but is it worth it? Or should I just farm it over the next several months or whatever?

If not worth it, I'll just buy wards on black friday.

Right...about those Legendary mounts - I said you should work towards one - I do not recommend buying one at the start. I have a Tenser's myself - love it, but I did not get it until at least 3 years after I started playing. Basically, I would say that you have no use for a legendary mount until you have a full stable of purple mounts (4-5, with suitable insignia bonuses)

Maybe bags should be your second priority after getting VIP? More bank slots, possibly? Storage will become more of an issue later - a lot of things you might want to keep...just in case,

Now, regarding armor and weapons, it depends a bit on your class. The same goes for weapon and armor enchants. Also, some classes have multiple roles they can fill, and those roles have different stat expectations, so if you want BiS gear ... well, in some cases you might basically need two (or 3) separate sets and just switch them when you switch loadouts. So, tell me what your class is and what role you want to be, and I might have some suggestions.

However....

If you started playing recently, you don't really know yet how to play your class. It takes a lot of practice. Now, leveling up from 1 to 70 can be done in a single day, but if you do that and just buy top-end gear, you will be like a guy who doesn't know how to drive, sitting behind the wheel of a Ferrari....it will end in a disaster.

So, one thing you should absolutely not do for your first character is to spend money on XP boosters or anything that allows you to level up faster. Spend time enjoying the storyline and learn how to play your character.

Character Slots + Dragonborn Legend Pack = enough storage space
you can claim the Dragon Hoard bag with every character on your account, and use the in game mail or the shared bank slots for moving items between characters.

Just get one character per class, when you get bored with playing your main class at some point, you can simply switch to another one.
And those alt. characters will also come in handy for salvaging loot, invoking, running additional profession tasks or getting more rewards during seasonal events.

well, alts are not really useful for extra salvaging any more, but as you said, for invoking, running additional profession tasks or getting more rewards during seasonal event, yes,,,,

There's still the rAD bonus from invoking, which means you've to salvage less items (or run less dungeons/skirmishes) to reach the daily refining limit.

I try to avoid unnecessary grind, therefore anything that helps is welcome.

salvage is easy to get .. its basicly worthless for mid game players mostly id say selling Items/stones/enchantments or something good on AH is good way to make AD (salvage is just a side bonus whit the new system)

Find another game , with Mod 15 changes its best to move on. They should change the name from neverwinter to nerfwinter. In other words don't waste your time or your $.

Ignore that post above...at least until we know what the changes will actually be.
Adinos Sep 21, 2018 @ 4:52am
We do not know the details. The changes may be an absolute disaster and decimate the player base, or they could be basically "no big deal". It all depends on the numbers and we don't have those yet, so just keep your mouth shut until you actually have something to complain about.

The "details" changes are already in dumbass. You actually think they will listen to anyone that leaves feedback from the preview server. They only say that so dumbass's like yourself think your voice matters. Go read the "details" the NERFS that come with Mod15.

Here are 2 big change that effects new players.

All crafting tasks will cost copper, silver, gold now / each seperate task. for every profession.

Was free since day 1. New players will SUFFER. Vet's like myself have 50k + gold.

Salvage equipment for RAD "rough astral diamonds" is GONE now you will only get small amount of RP. Making SEALS worthless once you are geared up.

Good luck reaching that 100k/day RAD now. Vet's like myself have tens of millions of AD & RAD already.

3rd party Gold sellers are gonna get some buiness after mod15 hits. I hope they can catch
them some how and ban thier accounts. :)

Also Vets controll the auction house as we can post items over and over at no cost from VIP benefits that take many months of having VIP before its free while new players have to pay a small AD fee to post items.

So why would new players want to play this game now? "SOLVED" They want to waste all there free time as its F2P and if you spend $ on this game now well then you have money to waste also and I'm saying <<<<<<<<, that nicely.

SCRUBS!

Oh, boy....someone here has serious issues,..calling people "dumbasses" and "scrubs", bragging about being a "vet" with "millions of AD"....sorry, you sound like an insecure teenager with serious self-esteem issues and no social life.

However, you are partially right.

When I said we did not know the details, that was the case -at that point in time they had only said they were doing away with salvaging, and instead we would be getting a direct rAD bonus and RP instead. At that time it wasn't clear what the numbers would be, but now they are out - and they are bad.

As things are right now on Preview, Mod 15 will bring a massive income nerf, basically destroy TRs for PvE purposes, make DO DCs useless for anything but solo play and GFs nerfed a bit as well.

On top of that, professions are made essentially useless....Leadership taken away, and you can no longer make jewels, armor kits, or boxes for guild donations.

So, no...I am no longer recommending this game for new players....not with developers pulling stunts like this.
