Neverwinter

I want to play the game, but please give me some advice.
I want to play the game but, I don't know if it is P2W or you can get everything by playing the game. It is a mindless grindfest? I know that is an MMO and in every MMO we have to grind something.

EDIT:One thing that I forget to ask is if the game is a good entrance for someone that wanna know the D&D lore.

my review, and you don't have to spend insane amounts of time or money to play the game.

In fact, "catching up" has been made even easier with the latest module Ravenloft. But to know that, one would have to actually play the game...

I don't know what game the Error0x00005 is talking about, but it isn't Neverwinter Online.

The game is not pay to win you dont have to spend insane amounts of money if you just play the story line and do all the journal stuff and do dungeons you'll be fine but it takes some time so dont expect to be max lvl instantly and take thing slow so you dont skip anything
Jax Jul 18, 2018 @ 8:13am
I got to max level in 4 days only to discover the end game content, and trust me, the game doesn't start until you hit level 70.

lol

*sigh* alright fine

“You are shown how "awesome" you are, lots of loot and such. Clear dungeons people speed through everything.

leveling through 1-70 has been streamlined, they want you to get to 70 as fast a possible, and every dungeon and area below 70 has been nerfed to hell to speed up this process, not sure how this "showing you have awesome you are" came about but trust me thats not it

“Most people don't speak English."

Also not true, PE and a few zone’s chat is full of English speakers, I’m not going to deny that there aren’t non-English speaking players in this game though (what mmo doesn’t have them tbh?)

“And you will easily dump 1,000+ dollars to "catch up" - No matter what anyone tells you here. YOU MUST PAY SERIOUS CASH just to compete with people ( Not PvP ) to raid and such. Otherwise no one will take you under their wing. “

no, again...., you don’t have to spend any money in this game especially not 1k, and you say "catch up", but you really mean is skip all other content and just do the newest (which btw isn’t even that long tbh)

“So unless you plan to solo forever, you will never see most end-game content. “

There are many guilds that take in new players and help them in early and endgame campaigns so stop with that lie as well (HELP not CARRY btw)

“Oh and diamonds. Enjoy being limited to 8,000 per day. Again some players have had 4+ years to save these. You don't just earn them, you have to "convert them" to be useable which means every 24 hours you can get 8k per day. Good luck getting anywhere without dumping hundreds of hours into this or spending hundreds to maybe compete and be able to enjoy end game. “

…………….

not even sure where you got 8,000 per day from I can get 5 times that by not even trying
(and I hope to god your not talking about salvaging them because that was never a thing for me either)

See, THIS is way I didn’t want to argue with you, you're still new and haven’t really played this game yet. (anything below 400 hrs is still new in my book), tbh this literally sounds like a child who got fed up because he “couldn’t play the vampire ♥♥♥♥ when he hit 70”

look, its not THAT hard to farm AD nor is needed to swipe to do any of the content. can you do everything as soon you hit 70? hell no nor do you need a bloody 18k GS to do them

and tbh if you have to buy anything just buy vip (i.e a sub), and your good to go follow the areas in order and you'll get zero to none hichups (even more so if you buy the low grade tarokka armor players sell on the AH)

ah so now its the "I got nothing, so let me insult" strategy. welp that’s major sign that you really don't know what you’re talking about. and it seems I was right to be skeptical and now I need to truly wash my hands of this you may continue to keep insluting if you wish ,to keep whatever up what ego you have left, makes no diff to me..(also good lord, learn how to format quotes better)

but anyways TC, before I go let me say this: the game is free 2 play, it cost nonthing to try it out, if you don't like, then I'm sorry to hear it,but if you do find it enjoable, I suggest you find a guild before you reach 70. but just don't skip trying it out altogether just because a butthurt kid said not too and rather paint an overly negative, overly exaggerated picture for you instead (your opinion matters too, theres enough "good" infomation out there to formulate one yourself)

There is no PVP so what are you paying to win against?
Wolverine Jul 19, 2018 @ 9:43am
Well, there's PvP, but compared to the PvE side of the game not many players participate in it...

The current seasonal event Summer Festival has some sort of Sahha Ball PvP in it, but what you get from winning or losing is pretty much random for everyone in it.

Besides, PvP ain't worth talking about until the Devs come up with a matchmaking based on the overall ItemLevel of a character.

That video is the cost of pets and their gear for rogues. Soo yeah it can cost you money depending on how fast you want to progress - For me I care not about end game content and really just enjoy leveling up characters. As I hit the level cap on games I lose interest in them. As I have no interest in playing Digital Barbie by getting my toon better gear.

I hit cap and I move on to the next char or the next game. But aye play the game how you see fit. /shrugs.

I have 700+ hours on the game and never paid for a single item. I still enjoy the game and can hold my own in any raid... However it does get to be abit of a grind, Nevertheless its a fun experience. Foundry is also there to give you abit of a reprieve from the daily smhokkery.
Wolverine Jul 21, 2018 @ 3:09am
... funny thing about the companions mentioned in the video, the uncommon versions of the Archons (Fire, Earth, Wind, Water) were sold for less then 10k AD when they were released.

And you could get a rare Siege Master for free from the Anniversary Companion Crate during the Protector’s Jubilee event, plus enough Companion Upgrade Tokens to improve it to epic.

Not to mention all the other rewards one could claim during that event, or the 50% discount coupons from the Protector's Bounty for the ZEN shop... which one could have used for buying the Chultan Tiger at half price.

For companion equipment... run Small Heroic Encounters in the River District, and trade the Seal of the Brave for IL 500 rings from the Seal Trader at the market in Protectors Enclave.
Or look for some cheap epic companion equipment on the AH from the
https://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Bloodied_Companion_Equipment_Pack

And word around the camp fire is, that the Devs are working on improving seasonal events:
https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter#/discussion/1241299/disappointed-in-summer-festival-event-coming
which hopefully will give us something fresh for this year's Winter Festival.
