Welcome to NWO.
Basically, it is easy to play all the classes "well enough" - however, some of the classes are harder than others to play "really well".
For a first character, I would probably recommend OP. High survivability, and once you get to the "end game" you will be sought after. The GWF is probably easiest to play, but it has the drawback that it is too popular - hard to get into groups. CW, SW and HR are more complicated to play well - perhaps more fun, but maybe more suitable as a second character, once you know your way around a bit better. GF and DC are my favourite classes - however, if you make a "pure tank GF" or a "pure healer DC", you will find the solo content painfully slow - you really need to go the DPS route when leveling. Finally TR - which is possibly the hardest class to play really well - great for PvP, but not much sought after for PvE content.
