on my level 14 op i got highest score in the 1st pvp match i entered on that character. i was level twelve at the time and we won by a landslide. on the other hand i dont expect people to be all that decked out in level 10 -19 pvp. side note, i have spent no money on the game although i do have an alternate cleric that i farm ad with and then transfer them to my op (once i outlevel my cleric i will delete it as it is rather crap)

OoPP for pve & pvp. My Paladin don't get a lot of kills in pvp, but it normally takes the whole team to kill me, If I'm holding a point. That leaves time for my team to do what needs done. My only issue is CW interrupting my temp hp combos or necrotic damage. In pve, forget about it. If you die in pve than you done something immensely supid.

pretty much, control wizards are the only real threat to a properly built op

either that or the whole enemy team

As far as soloing most content all of the classes are viable, I have personally been able to do all of the content up to mod 3 endgame solo with every class with Item levels no higher than 2k. Everything, except the multiplayer dungeons of course. I never took a support class further than mod 5 content, but as long as your upgrading yer toon as you go along even the newest and most difficult endgame content is still solo-able by pretty much every class, though I know healers were having lot of trouble with STK SoMI stuff there for a bit. For PvP, yeah OPs are great at not dieing, but don't expect to ever see double kill to appear. Ive gone up against a few BiS OPs with my BiS TR and 1 on 1 theyve never killed me. Usually me almost killing them just to watch their HP fill back up and temp HP to appear, over and over again. But the good news (or bad depending on your opinion) is that whoever they have writing code isn't very good at it, and they are constantly tweaking stuff, so they are constantly breaking stuff, creating circumstances for a person to utilize a broken mechanic to own in PvP for awhile. Because of that Ive seen 1 Tank out dps all the other BiS dps classes combined in a raid or dungeob. Buff multiplications turning a power thats only supposed to do 10k damage over time into a multi million damage beast. So best is really just up to you and your playstyle, of course GWF essentially adds a hidden configuration in your options and setting menu that puts the game on easy mode which you cannot turn off.

best best best why do noobs always ask "what is best?" there's NO SUCH THING!!!! Play the damn game.

well, for solo content, id rather have a dps instead of tank. so in that case, there are better classes.

so by your logic dps class "is best?" lmao just...LMAO!!!! #childlogic

Did you even read his post? Or are you just trying to purposefully be an ass? BTW when you use quotations in your post when you are referring to what some1 else has said, it doesnt work if that person didnt actually say the thing your quoting. He said he'd "rather have a dps" for solo content. I'm not sure where you got the notion he was suggesting they are the best class. Like I could say make a tank or healer because for endgame content tanks and healers are in much higher demand, because DPS are a dime a dozen. My statement would be no more saying that I think they are the best type of class than what key said about dps for solo stuff.

There will be quite a few moments in grinding through "solo content" as a dps class, campaign quests/mini lairs for example, when you're going to wish you had picked a more durable class...

That might change, when you have equiped your dps character with better items, but until then you should get a decent leader/defender companion to help you out in those moments.

even considering that companions are only down for a few seconds, you should also think about getting one of those bells. it might save your butt, when your healing potion is on CD, and you need your companion back on it's feet...

Guardian Fighter for me. Beefy, solid damage, survivable, PvP viable - can do group content as full tank or sub-DPS. Back when I first got into Neverwinter, I used to spam PvP like a scrubby lunatic - ground my way to a full PvP set before I even hit 60, which was the cap back then, and hadn't put any money into the game at that point. It was a lot of fun, even if sometimes you are merely there to be the most annoying CC-bot on the planet rather than a killing machine.

Then I stopped playing for multiple years and tried it again when the dino-patch came out. Re-levelled to 70 but still in very outdated gear bar some of the gem-vendor blues from the dino-camp, yet could still solo most of the level 70 quests - after all, damage-viable tanks tend to do pretty well in most MMORPG's when it comes to solo'ing.

Main issue is I'm so out of touch with the game that I have no clue how to get a more up-to-date weapons or gear, and never bothered to try seeing as I'll be heading back to FFXIV/WoW pretty soon anyway, with Guild Wars 2 on the side.

Until 70 you can can solo without challenge or threat , it is pretty boring . After you will have to be in a guild or friends.
Adinos 2018년 5월 16일 오전 2시 55분
Any class can do all the solo content without too much trouble - build matters a bit - a heal-specced DC will have some real issues, for example, but for a first character, I'd say an OP is a good choice - high survivability.

However, just pick whatever you like - if you find yourself dying too much, you are doing something wrong - as I said, all the solo content (with the possible exception of a couple of quests) is perfectly doable by any class.
