either that or the whole enemy team
well, for solo content, id rather have a dps instead of tank. so in that case, there are better classes.
Did you even read his post? Or are you just trying to purposefully be an ass? BTW when you use quotations in your post when you are referring to what some1 else has said, it doesnt work if that person didnt actually say the thing your quoting. He said he'd "rather have a dps" for solo content. I'm not sure where you got the notion he was suggesting they are the best class. Like I could say make a tank or healer because for endgame content tanks and healers are in much higher demand, because DPS are a dime a dozen. My statement would be no more saying that I think they are the best type of class than what key said about dps for solo stuff.
That might change, when you have equiped your dps character with better items, but until then you should get a decent leader/defender companion to help you out in those moments.

even considering that companions are only down for a few seconds, you should also think about getting one of those bells. it might save your butt, when your healing potion is on CD, and you need your companion back on it's feet...

Then I stopped playing for multiple years and tried it again when the dino-patch came out. Re-levelled to 70 but still in very outdated gear bar some of the gem-vendor blues from the dino-camp, yet could still solo most of the level 70 quests - after all, damage-viable tanks tend to do pretty well in most MMORPG's when it comes to solo'ing.
Main issue is I'm so out of touch with the game that I have no clue how to get a more up-to-date weapons or gear, and never bothered to try seeing as I'll be heading back to FFXIV/WoW pretty soon anyway, with Guild Wars 2 on the side.
However, just pick whatever you like - if you find yourself dying too much, you are doing something wrong - as I said, all the solo content (with the possible exception of a couple of quests) is perfectly doable by any class.
