Hello. recently I have been playing Neverwinter but it crashed my computer, making it blue screen and then give me "CPU overheat error", I noticed later playing different games my computer performed slower and fps dropped from 60 fps to 20 or lower! is thier a possible fix to this as Neverwinter is a fun game and I wanna play my other games with decent fps again.

It's not the game's fault. It might be YOUR fault, the pc is overheating. Check where the PC stands, it must have some air flow. Open window at nights so the temperature in your room could lower down and close the windos durning day, where is the most hot. Lowering the settings can cause lower the temperature. Don't overcloack the cpu, it causes processor to work harder and produce more heat. Open your pc and clean up all the dust inside. Remove and apply new cooling paste on your cpu. Change factory cooling fan, to something much bigger and better.

What cpu cooler you're using? & what temperature you're getting when using your PC normally like browsing & watching video? If its too high like 60 or 70 celsius & fan is working properly then its mostly thermal paste problem. Reapply a good thermal paste like artic silver 5 & use a better after market cooler like Hyper 212 EVO.
Also the sloution could as simple as "Norfigrim" said like dust problem or not enough cooling.

60-70 isn't that high

Its in degree celsius & 60 is way to high for normal usage. In summer i usually get 46 degree CPU temp for normal usage & its really hot here in summer.
Currently i am getting 57 degree CPU temp with everything max out in neverwinter & its rainy season season here.
My old pc use to get 60 degrees in normal usage & the problem was the old thermal paste had dried out. So after replacing it with some cooler master paste i got it around 45.

Yeah dude, check your hardware setup. Is your PC in a place where it can get airflow? Check to see if the fans are working.

There's a program I used in the past called Reamtemp that you can monitor your CPU's temperature(if you're using Windows).

Also, is it only neverwinter that this happens? Might be a good idea to get a temp. monitoring program and check the logs when you play other games. It could actually be a hardware problem.
