There's likely another route you have not seen.
I even looked at videos of people who had done that one, and they all used the same route.
If that is the scrying stone you are refering to that video may help. I got there with a GF with no dodging or jumping modifications.
Apologies I do not tend to record videos so the quality is lacking. No idea why the sound sucks just mute it and you shouldn't need sound to follow my path. :-)
EDIT - Overwriting the hissing sounds with a youtube track. Hopefully that is less jarring. One of these days I will look into why the NVidia software is broken for me.
I have tried many, many times, jumping around like an ape in a fit, but wind up on the ground again.
I obviously recorded that on PC (I referenced recording with NVidia) but I can ask the other Official Forum Mods to try it on Xbox/PS4 in case there is some obsruction unique to the platform in the off chance you are playing on a console.
There shouldn't be anything that effects jumping height at all let alone at that early stage in the game. You should be able to follow that path without dodging or needing any jumping power/benefits.
I had a similar problem trying for the middle scry stone in Helm's hold, though I think it's more that I just can't find the right angle on it. It's the one on the side of a cliff right above that pavillion thingy at the rest area below.
You climp up the cliff face, jump to a smallish rock spire, then jump (supposedly) to the final rock spire where the stone is. There's a slab of cliff face in the way of that final jump that cuts off much of the approach, though.
