Unsupported Video Card
Hi all,
I used to be able to play without any issues but since yesterday, when Windows decided to do an update, I keep getting an "Unsupported Video Card" error, saying basically that my GC needs to suppord DirectX Hardware Feature Level 10 or higher. I have an Nvidia 650M GT which supports DX12 and as I said, I used to be able to play without any issues.
Any idea how I can fix this? Does this occur to anyone else recently?
Thanks!
PS: I have the latest drivers installed and there are no visible conflicts in the Windows Device Manager.

Hmm, the game wants you to have at least DX10, and thinks you dont have it. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling Direct X?

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Problem is on Windows 10 DirectX 12 is pre-installed and as far as I can tell, part of the OS. I could not find any way to remove / re-install it. Also, running dxdiag shows no issues so it seems DirectX is fine.
I did however perform a re-install of DX 9 through DX 11. It didn't help :(

Only thing I can think of then is to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game itself. You never know just how a game will react when you change your OS without changes to the game

Long shot, but have you tried to use the GEForce experience to optimize the game for you?

I have not yet tried uninstalling the game completely but will. In the meantime, I get a similar error for Path of Exile so I have a feeling it's maybe not the game that's at fault. Also, in the GEForce Experience tool for Neverwinter it says it's unable to retrieve the settings...

IS power management turned off on the card? If it is on that can cause issues.

I had the same problem and I gave up on Neverwinter. However Overwatch had the same problem and in searching for a solution I found this from blizzards page when Overwatch gave me the same error I followed the directions (modified for Win10) it worked for Neverwinter for me as well. Hope it helps anyone who gets this error.

You will see this error message if your graphics card doesn't meet our minimum system requirements. If you meet the requirements and still receive this error, make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.

If your drivers are up to date, try refreshing your desktop resolution:

1. Press the Windows key to open the Start Menu.
2. Type 'control' to filter results, then click Control Panel.
3. In the upper right, set the Control Panel to View by: Category.
4. Under Appearance and Personalization, click Adjust screen resolution.
5. Click the drop-down list next to Resolution, move the slider to a different resolution, and then click Apply.
6. Click Keep.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 but return to the Recommended resolution.
8. Close the Control Panel and rerun the game.

Thank You!
I had the same issue after Windows update, but in stead of just going through all those steps, I just skipped to change the resolutions.. once, twice and back to recommended settings and guess what.. VOILA.. all games work!! To think I was ready to stop playing and pick up a book in stead!! xD

I tried doing this but I can't see the option to adjust the screen resolution.

right click an empty spot on your desktop, choose display settings, scroll down and resolution will be one of the options to change.
