There definitely is something happening with their servers/launcher. I just felt the desire to casual an MMO for the first time in years and decided on Neverwinter. My computer is beast and so is my internet connection. The 10gb worth of data to download would normally take me 5 minutes or less on a platform like Steam.

The download started off great and I was able to get the first 40% in just a few minutes before it slowed down to creeping speeds. From 40-50% it has been fluctuating between a crawl and a walk, but at least it's moving.

I'm sure this would be annoying to most and no doubt will cause a few people to lose interest. I'm also going to guess that this is an indication of what I have to look forward to with server lag/stability. Nevertheless, I don't feel that it's a deal breaker as long as it does eventually finish downloading.

A little patience goes a long way.

Same here after 38% is an horrible 800Kbps, oh goodness... 3 hours ago it was 15Mbps... I am crying...

iT CAN HELP WITH QUESTIONS IN GENERALL, thats the reason why forums even exist. The basics...
- disable "on-demand patching" in the game launcher options, download the whole game,
- run a "force verify", to see if everything is there and working properly,
- hit play, then do nothing until the game reaches the character screen on it's own,
- rinse and repeat after a module update if necessary.

About the download speed...
- maybe trying out one of the patching proxy will help with speeding up the download again.

i made everything.. im looking for a fix or something on forums but some stupid peoples makes me laugh... "Maybe restart computer" comments are really comedy.. i hope this game community is not like these braindead..

It is slow in my computer too. I have 700mbit symmetrical internet connection but download speed for NWN Patcher is 600-700 KB/s.

July '18 and problem still here - have 95 down and 38 up. Steam informs me I have 11 hours in game, but I've never even seen the character select.

Some people just refuse to accept that the problem is probably on their end, or with their internet provider, and prefer to blame the game servers. Just ignore this.

Steam servers downloading with 70-75 MB/s, Origin downloads are 65MB/s, World of Warcraft and other Blizzard games download from Battle.net client at least 65-68MB/s and you say problem is on our end.

And those speeds were when I was in Poland. Now I am in Germany and I am using Vodafone 1 Gigabit fiber internet, I am getting download speeds more than 90MB/s, but not from Neverwinter.

Imagine being such a head-up-the-ass nerd that you like a game so much that you think its creators are necessarily infallible so any problem anyone else has is their fault and has nothing to do with the software company, that seems like a sane and rational way to go through your life.

but yeah same ♥♥♥♥ here it was speedy for the first little bit but it's going at a despicable crawl. I have a 100Mbps DL but the patcher is going at less than a tenth of that. Just to test it, after having left the patcher downloading for around an hour, it is around 56% with 1500MB downloaded. I queued a 7000MB steam game to download at the same time and it was done within 5 minutes. Sit down and shut up fanboys.
