Fish won't reel in

Here at the Germany Wasserdam, I was unable to get inside the dam area. On the back side of the dam yo an walk around the fence to the where the water flows over. Once you cast, you have no problems catching fish, but when reeling in. As the catch gets close to take catch. It's like the fish always gets off of the line. I made about 10 catches and everyone of them was like this. No matter what size hook.

Must be one of them obstacles for the hook error messages

I know this thread is a few weeks old, but @Tigerland67, try this next time it happens:

- Hit enter
- Mouse over your chat window
- In the top part of the window, click the info tab

Usually, if a fish gets away, the reason will be written there.

If you're fishing off of one of the little square gravel platforms and you're too far back when you reel in (i.e. sitting in your chair a meter or two back from the edge) the fish will get hung up on the ledge and break free that way, the same thing happens if you're in a boat and the fish is under the boat when you try to reel it in. I was having a similar issue in the rocks in Caspian Sea last night.

Most of the time when that happens, the tension will go crazy too though, giving you a clear indication that the fish pathing is stuck.
