RF4 Vs TFO fishing day comparison

Hi,

I got a day off so I've spent the afternoon to compare my former fav fishing game (RF4) to TFO. I've played one entire in-game day for each, here are the results :

RF4 (new Amber Lake, lvl 26, good stuff)

- more than 2 minutes loading game
- first bite after 4 minutes
- 16 fishes caught
- 6 fishes gone
- around 150 silver fishes sold
- 1 coffee quest futhfilled for 28 silver

TFO (Germany and Russia, lvl 11, average stuff)


- less than 30 seconds loading game
- first bite after 20 seconds
- 63 fishes caught
- 2 fishes gone
- around 200 silver fishes sold
- 6 quest futhfilled for around 500 silver

Comments :

RF4 is still a solid fishing simulation, probably the best, with tons load of stuff and techniques to use but the pace is dramatically slow, even for an experienced fisher. We don't earn much silver so it takes ages to buy baits, boat licenses and stuff, which are very expensive. Physic is good and maps are huge but graphics are under expectations, water is a mirror, and loading screens are a pain. Recommended for fishing specialists and people who have many and many hours (and/or money) to spend in an often frustrating and much complicated game.

TFO seems to lack stuff and techniques atm, even with fly fishing implemented (game launched early november), and is a little buggy but feels like a good simulation though. No skills or energy bars (dev choice) can be disappointing. However, it's easy to start and progression is quick. Good variety of fishes, huge maps, nice graphics, waters full of life. We earn money easily thanks to rewarding quests. Boats near camps are free. Loading game takes less than 30 seconds and fish bites immediatly so it's ok to play short game sessions. Recommended for people interested in a real fishing simulation but who have a life ^^

I important thing about rf4 you forgot to added is the cost of gear. Gear can run you 100's of real life money. The game also is target real life currency.

or you want to do the naughtiness of the makers then go to the forum

have long enough rf4 played-the makers go to nothing from the community

and I say again the water looks after 5 years still ♥♥♥♥ and all take the same engine

I'm not sure the people here want somebody talking up that pile of rubbish that is RF4.
RF4 has been ruined by the recent update, and it's being going downhill for quite some time. Amber Lake is the only place you can catch fish, everywhere else has been ruined. The OP forgot to mention that. Try and catch fish from Sura or Belaya and then do a comparison.
I wouldn't go near RF4 with a bargepole if you paid me to. I've uninstalled it in fact.
You should compare the devs too; this dev is friendly and listens to you and is not greedy, the devs at RF4 are conmen who are out to scam you for every penny they can get, and they ban anybody who dares to offer a critique to their unrealistic game. Many of us here playing this great game have been banned by those bullies. As far as I'm concerned it's a badge of honour!
If you want to write about RF4 please keep it to yourself or go and post on their forum. We're not interested here in that game.

RF4 doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as TFO. Woolf is nothing like the money grabbing scum that make that game.
