tutorial?

Is there any tutorial of any sort? I am so lost. I see the inventory and a few key commands, but could really use a lot more. Not giving up by any means, but just some basic ideas on how to get started would really help.

No probs , imo this is the best fishing game we have , it's not perfect but really very good.

I watched that youtube video and it did provide lots of help, but i still have one problem. No clue how to change retrieve speed. I see the mouse wheel is used to increase drag, but holding down R key to increase retrieve speed seems to do nothing different. No idea what I could be doing wrong. I don't even see any indicator of speed changing.

When drawing fish, the speed is maximum (if you hold down shift)

okay. i understand hold down shift for maximum, but how to adjust between slowest and fastest?

Also, check the keybindings section for all available well.. Keybinds :D

There is an F1 help panel, but it does not show everything (last i checked).

I appreciate the attempt to help here, but that doesn't really answer my question. I thought there would be a key to raise the reeling speed incrementally. I had to actually watch my reel and figure it out myself. It appears that you reel slowly and by HOLDING DOWN left shift key you reel much faster. It appears that it i either slow or fast, by holding and releasing left shift. Pressing R, very briefly flashes the drag setting and does nothing to reel speed from what I can see. Maybe I am still missing something....

In 'controls' R is for 'speed panel' but i have no clue what that means. Maybe something is lost in translation here. Not complaining at all. Still enjoying the game as I figure it out. Though I personally think it needs a very thorough tutorial.

Well, when you have an assembled (spinning) rod in your hand, pressing R will indeed open the speed panel where you can adjust your normal retrieval speed.

The same goes for when float fishing to adjust the depth.

Finally, if you have something like an adjustable rodpod (you probably do not yet), pressing N opens the panel to adjust it :D

Okay. I am slowly learning here.... I find that what you are saying about R for the speed panel is true when using lures. However, it does not work when using a float and hook and worm, grub, etc. Maybe i still misunderstand parts of this. :)

I may be understanding here.... Reel speed for lures, spinners, etc. No need for reel speed with a float and hook. :) Just drag control.

There is a 99.9% fantastic community in this game any help and advice you need outside of third party guides is available here just ask. We have all been there and are still learning.
