Adding an RPG element
Hello, friends. I thought about how to improve the quality and interest of fishing. And, in this regard, I want to ask your opinion, how do you feel about adding some unrealistic elements to the game process. For example, this is the loot catch of some items that can not be found in the reservoir (for example, collectible cards), these are certain player skills, special tasks, improving the quality of fishing rods and similar things.

I think it could be interesting, especially if you create a new Quest section for going after these items. I mean quests and RPG's go hand in hand. I don't know if it would be interesting if it's random like the lump algae rewards. Those are nice, but I personally enjoy the quest system and going after specific things, especially forcing me to go after fish I normally wouldn't or even expand to quests like the angler house and using specific bait/lure, etc.

It could add another dimension to the game. I think you could be really creative with that. Especially if we have to search for something to complete/improve equipment or collectibles like cards. It also gives you the framework to create seasonal type of quests to get collectibles like other games.

Hi Woolf, if it won't take away from the real feel of actual fishing then yes of course! +1 for anything that will make the game more unique and prolong the fun!

Agree 100% with Jessica's comment - it mustn't take away or add additional barriers to progressing with the fishing elements of the game, but if there are additional ways to add a sense of progression, variety and interest then that is always very welcome.

RPG elements are generally not bad. But if these things are only given randomly or if it degenerates into endless grind, I'm not thrilled about it. Longer quests to earn something like that would be okay.

I personally suggest adding a skill tree, for the level you gain you earn points that you can then give out.
Skills for spinning, ground, float, etc.
I think it would be interesting.
For example, float fishing skill - increases the possibility of catching a trophy, using the float method.

Above all, the attractiveness of the game will increase, much more equipment in stores. This is what players miss the most. And it would be nice if the skills would affect the ability to use a particular equipment, or improve fishing with a particular equipment.

Not a bad idea

Sounds good, but sounds bad to me at the same time. It could improve in handling a fish to reel in, but it can end in a overpowered system.
If it would be used to fine tune your equipment, to filter out a species, or reduce/improve the variation in strenght, weight or rarity of a fish -I woudl weclome that RPG system.

Good idea Woolf.

"Card" was appreciated on AT II by most player (card giving tips on how to catch xyz species) having a similar thing here would be appreciated too.

Also if you could add a NPC (non player character) beside each shop where each player could obtaine some info but only related to DAILY QUEST, eg:

"Hey! What do you want me to ask ? I may help you !

- Where are the most 'fish_number' been catch on this map ?
- What is the prefered bait to catch 'fish_number' today?
- What is the prefered daytime to catch 'fish_number' today?
- What are Quest and where to get them ?
- How to get cards?
- Sorry nothing it's a mistake"

Eg if daily task is about to catch Spike, this Npc could be something like :

"Hey! What do you want to ask ? I may help you !

Q1 - Where are the most Spike been catch on this map ?
(let's get different answer possible to each Q)
-> rumors said : Spike are often catch near zone B5 to B8
-> rumors said : Spike are often catch along the shore
-> rumors said : Spike are often catch near waterlily
(etc)

Q2 - What is the prefered bait to catch Spike today?
-> rumors said : Spike are often catch today using lure you may try Salmon GT serie
-> rumors said : Spike are often catch today using lure you may try a Jig using Twistnord
-> rumors said : Spike are often catch today using hook size 2 and baitfish

Q3 - What is the prefered daytime to catch Spike today?
-> rumors said : Spike are often catch during morning, day and evening
-> rumors said : Spike could bite anytime but most player catch them at morning they are hungry!

Q4 - What are Quest and where to get them?
-> rumors said : open a smartphone (Q key on your keyboard) here they are !

Q5 - How to get cards?
-> rumors said : by finish multiple quest about a specific species you could win a cards!

(etc)

This game lack of information, NPC could be a interesting way to give information :)

To get answer we could also have to pay a tiny sum eg: a drink, or burger to give to NPC to get an answer lol

No. Its fishing. Simple as. You dont turn up in real life at the river side to either dig bait or ask someone advice and pay them a burger for information. Leave the game well enough alone or you will end up turning it into Atom fishing or that other one.....RF4.
