This will create player engagement, make the game more fun to play and I'm pretty sure there will be more players opening the game every day.
I would like the following daily tournaments (one or two from each map per day, in this case 9 maps x 2 = 18 tournaments each day, each at a different hour so we could go from one to another).:
Siberia:
- siberian dace (bottom, 3 rods)
- siberian bream (bottom, 3 rods)
- lake whitefish (bottom, 3 rods)
- lenok (bottom, 3 rods)
- tugun (bottom, 3 rods)
USA:
- silver salmon (spinning 1 rod)
- brown trout (spinning 1 rod)
- smallmouth bass (spinning 1 rod)
- black bass (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
Poland:
- trout (fly fishing, spinning, 1 rod)
- pike (spinning 1 rod)
- taimen (fly fishing, spinning, 1 rod)
Italy:
- asp (spinning 1 rod)
Germany:
- brook trout (spinning 1 rod)
- any carp (max quantity, 3 rods)
France:
- any carp (max quantity, 3 rods)
Scotland:
- arctic char (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
Finland:
- baltic salmon (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
- arctic char (spinning, bottom fishing, 3 rods)
Norway:
- farmed salmon (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
- whitefish (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
- atlantic cod (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
- pink salmon (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
- whitefish (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
- merluzzo (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
- grayling black (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
- yellowfin flounder (bottom, spinning, float, fly, 3 rods)
Totally agree with the tournament volume, but would greatly expand the mix of tournaments per map from some of the above - e.g. France, Italy - so many great species there that could be included so seems a real shame to limit to only one or two on some of the maps - also agree there should be tournaments that cater to each fishing style so that it is not too spinning heavy.
OK, I can agree with you on keeping the volume about the same and adding a more diverse variety of fish to catch. However, I hope any changes and/or additions are not modeled after the USA 1000 DLC map. It is really difficult trying to catch day fish at night and night fish during the day. Moreover, making it more difficult is trying to catch fish that usually bite on bait with a spinning rig and vice-versa. No wonder that map has tournaments where only a very few people even catch a fish.
If you want to encourage folks to catch fish in bizarre ways then add some steam achievements e.g. to mark the achievement of catching an eel with a spinner
+1
This was originally intended. Give others a chance, looking at the gold in your profile, everyone can already see that you are a master
Nice to hear from you again. In short, I don't feel like (or consider myself) a master; however, it is my choice to limit my tournament play if I have already won a gold medal in a specific tournament and it is your choice to leave everything "as is" if you don't like a suggestion.
In my few weeks i am playing this game i see nevertheless same names in top 3 on specific tournaments again. I have no issues with that, if someone is that good, but i think you can spread the possibility of giving all players a proper chance by doing the following:
1. let several tounaments happen at the same time. so no one can be at the same time twice. so we have to decide which one we want to take part. You can do either all each of one style or same style at the same time, whatever will work out for you better. Switch timing in 3/6/12 from day to day so that everyone in every time zone has a chance once a day/week (dependin on how many new contests we get from you. ;) )
2. rewards: reward top places with some minor givaways, like lures, bait etc. in a non fixed appearance so people are further spread by the chance of getting somethign that they like.
3. Maybe set a cooldown for a special type so that you can do a special style contest only once a day or whatever period you have in mind. (would hurt myself as well, but can help)
4. Randomization: Why not make Contest x+y+z (x=Lake y=fishOfLake z=fishingMethod)
Will sometimes make no sense but can be incredible fun seeing 50 people flyfishing for Catfish or spinnfishing carp..
Nevertheless i agree with the opener, that we need more kind of tournaments. each lake has so many challenging fishes to go for.
Additionally i would like to see real tournaments with qualifying and finals. but i am not such long into the game to know if they do already exist..
You have made a great game, thank you for that!
This is what I was going to say. It's ok if sometimes a tournament looks impossible.
Currently it's to easy to be good prepared for the tournaments, because of the lack of variety. They keep repeating and it's very efficient to prepare once and keep farming.
