Pahoehoe lava void dungeon boss ridiculous?
I'm maxed out, decent gear, tried to take on this dungeon. I found that the boss one-shots my entire team as soon as the loading screen is done. Seems like it might be a little too difficult. I have tried the fight 20 or so times, and every once in a while he doesn't one shot my team, and I can even get him down to 25%, but it's like a bullet-hell arcade game that has ridiculously overpowered attacks periodically that are only avoidable if you're lucky.

Is it just me? Doing something wrong?

Use resilience potion

Makes almost no difference. Plus, almost every time I have him down to 10 or 15% health, he closes the deal by teleporting on top of me and finishing me off. Not much you can do skill-wise to avoid that -- happens with no warning. Other one- or two-shotting attacks, like the boulder or the fire wave, have almost no wind-up, so if you're animation locked for even half a second, you can't avoid it. I think this is too much.

I finally beat it, and it was just basically dumb luck. I realized that if he gets a good shot in on the other 3 members of my party right away, the fight was over anyway, so I would just go to main menu and reload and try again until I got lucky enough that he didn't wipe the rest of my team immediately.

My feedback on this fight, as an older player who has decent skill but isn't a teenage twitch-reflex player anymore, is this is too much. It felt unfair and capricious, and when I won I felt like it was dumb luck too. Should probably be adjusted -- either the boss's strong attacks should have more warning and opportunity to evade, or they should be toned down in damage.

And, um, he shouldn't be able to attack on frame 1 after the load screen disappears, not when I'm right next to him.

Yeah that boss is very broken indeed lol. U can die instantly if u don't roll downwards instantly.

Riq can help you with that but it still rolling the dice if she want to use her healing spell at the right time. Her spell has 800 range for healing but 1,500 for unkillable effect (You can't die until the effect wear off which last maximum of 8 seconds if her spirit is high enough).

I agree with the difficulty. But if you are able to do the high level dungeon (I think the name is "formation something something") in the icy map as well as the dungeon very near it where you fight an ice dragon, you'd have an easier time with this. This dungeon where you fight an ice dragon also drops one potion which raises a specific stat (if it drops the strength potion, it perma increases it) by 5 points. It also drops a skill crystal which grant you 1 skill point. If you have the time, you can increase the stats of your character infinitely. Of course the dungeon is only available, I think, after every 30 days or so.

Lol, yeah, I held down S and rapidly tapped space bar as the loading screen was almost done so I could hopefully dodge the attack. I honestly shudder to think how awful it would have been if I didn't have armor that made me speed around the area like a rabbit on crack. Thanks for the tips guys. I think I had princess whatshername with good heals and short-term invuln, so that must have helped keep the cannon fodder party members alive for a bit longer.

The major thing that got me with this, was the lava wall they fire. That thing does way too much damage, and is very difficult to avoid. If it hit's all your units, then yeah, you're pretty well done for.

The way i got around this, was using 3 caster companions rather than melee, and having myself charge in, grab the aggro and dodge up and down on the other side of it so it's attacks didn't hit my team. This was easier to do with blade dancer, funny enough, seeing as how i feel like blade dancer is severely gimped and underpowered in comparison to so many other classes. The mobility, and keeping the attacks off my team was what won it for me.

That fight does suck and i hold it till way near the end even though you get it really early. I think i've beaten it with kiting around and/or using the wolf scroll. It is an overly frustrating fight just to clear a quest off the list.

You can beat this easily if you can kite it, ideally is to have a few melee units while you kite its attacks. This fight is challenging at lv10 but by lv15 and onward it's cake

it's hard on your own, if you recruit 3 characters it's cake

This boss annihilated my level 20 heros, so no.
At the time i took on this boss before, i was using 4~7 legendary equipment (at level 20). Horrendous. Coming back to it with level 15~17 legendary equipment, I killed this thing in about 5 seconds from mission start, only taking about 15% health damage across my team.

Hero level actually plays very little into potency. What matters is your composition and even more importantly, equipment.... Lesson of the day though... Don't neglect that equipment. It's not just a "slight boost", it makes or breaks you.

That's good to hear. Do you think you could give us a bit more detail about your party composition and gear by any chance?

The boss one shots my team too. Luckily, I had stealth so I could kill the boss that way.
