How does coop work?

I plan on buying the game and I was curious if the game has crossplay for someone on steam to play with someone on Quest 2. And also is the game remote play where my friend and I could play it while being at our separate apartments or is it sit down you have to be in the same room? May sound odd I know but I can't find anything online

AFAIK local coop works like this: one person uses VR headset, another one uses kb/m or standard controller and regular display of the same PC. Press F1 to activate/deactivate.
With remote play the second person should be able to play from another PC but not from another VR headset.
