I hate inscription
Instead of getting a deck-building roguelike, they shoved a pseudo-horror game with a subplot lot's of secrets, it tryes all to get hype. Also It's so disgusting to use cheap tricks to break the third wall. When you buy a game, you expect a cool game, but you don't get a bunch of mechanics just to show that you can do it, but you don't even have to use them because the game is VERY easy. I don't want a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie with a game in the background. Instead of making more plots think more about game balance, winrates, and skip animation button. :angry_creep:

Hello MacKot,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Inscryption. Perhaps it is worth noting that Inscryption's primary focus is expanding the narrative that was first established in Daniel's first game, Pony Island, while utilizing the elements of a deck builder. The game does not attempt to follow the structure of Slay the Spire (which we love!) or Monster Train. Those games prioritize replayability with the scaled difficulty while Inscryption, much like the previous games, prioritizes world-building and an enriched gameplay with its twists.

I think it is safe to say that Daniel's games follow the "not what you expect" rule. I am sad to hear that it didn't satisfy you, but hey, Kaycee's Mod (it is an official endless mode that is unlocked after finishing the game despite having "mod" having in its title) exists for an endless Act 1 experience that may be more suitable for your vision of the game. Try Skull Storm and let me know if the game is still too easy :)

Best,

Best,
To be fair, the game itself feels more like for people who have never played a card game. that doesn't make it bad tho. I freaking love it.

maybe just try Kaycee's mod if you dont care about the story/tutorial part of it

On the main menu:

Shift+K+M to unlock Kaycee's Mod

Shift+A+S to unlock chapter select

Honestly, I played this game out of nowhere and fell in love with the mechanics. A story world based on a character with a card game with a few changed rules.

After finding out the game changed per chapter, the game got even more exciting. They can apply an escape room with a card themed game.

I couldn't wait to try the other 2 story characters board and even though I loved the game, I felt cheated from the other two characters. I was even thinking how it could also work for online pvp play with friends.

Even after finishing the game, it didn't feel like the card games matter anymore and I felt sad putting it down.

Honestly I think with the story mode they have a great presentation. With DLC they can easily expand on the boards and have people enjoy the game from another angle.

Best,
My thinks of Kaycee's Mod kinda gamble, later stages of the game basicly can u first turn draw baffed Mantis God to oneshot all or not, that's all, and try to not get more cards, destroy as much as u can other cards from deck, copy Mantis God's, repeat, first 6-8 stages was fun with other build's

So what I gathered is that.... the game isn't for you???? I don't like basketball and could list all the reasons it sucks, but I don't because it's just not my thing, not necessarily it being a bad sport.
