game is too scary
i bought this game because all the reviews said it was really good but i didnt take into account that i cant handle scary stuff (for some reason i didnt think it was a horror game). i would have refunded it but i played it after two weeks from buying so i dont think i can.

this game is hardly a horror game. the only thing horror about it is maybe the slightly disturbing imagery. There isn't even any jumpscares. The focus is on the card game and the story.

maybe but with games like this if my goal is to leave the cabin that i am trapped in then i would just shut down the game instead of playing in an opressive and creepy atmosphere. but if there isnt any jumpscares then maybe ill give it a shot later

A game doesn't require action horror to be scary, good atmosphere can easely be scary constantly and increasingly. And Inscryption's first act's atmosphere and mystery sure are that good, in my side just standing next to the "eyes" in the dark was scary and uncomfortable for a while lol
But I expected the game to be quite scary from the game's page visuals and main tags so I was happy with that
It's far more dread than jump scare. When the worst happens, you know it's coming, it comes at you slow and it cuts to black when the point's been made.

You should play it none the less, just makes the experience more memorable.
u escape the cabin; and (spoiler alert) find out that the cabin is a twisted version of the game you are playing. the horror elements of the game transform into an entirely new atmosphere, and several times, absolutely worth pushing past the scary elements in the first act (i don't recommend looking up the games' acts unless you seek spoilers) but besides the point, you basically aren't the only one trying to escape and the frustration in the beginning is totally intentional (and goes away)
Maybe the problem is with me,but I find it cosy. Relaxing music, yule log ambiance, calm gameplay.

I'd definitely agree on that, even if it could be a bit scary at times to me it also is soo chill in a warm way

big reason why I think I'll stick to this game for a long time with kaycees mod. game is very chill to casually play
I am not a fan of horror or anything but this game was fine for me. I think that it's not very scary or anything, especially if you skip watching all the video journal things.
