I kind of forgot if it was tied to campfire survivor kills not the creatures being destroyed by chance or based on your deaths which causes the figurines to pile up, but it's one of them
There's no real significant impact on the game other than hidden lore, which whenever you progress further into the game you can come across your answer about the card, if you interact with the right secrets available

(edit: I think the bad food got nerfed. even after the campfire peeps ate it, the next run they were back. I thought the bad food got them permanently. I've grabbed the film now so I can't test it deeper this run. My understanding may have been flawed, as I've never bothered serving bad food before. Do different bad foods bad differently? Or did an update change things?)
Regarding the method of the campfire & bad food, Ring Worm or anything with Touch of Death would kill them just for that singular run, if you die, they always have returned, but any later campfires during that singular run will be free 4 upgrades every time, whether it's health or damage

Thanks! (edit: not the most powerful deathcards I've made, but the most numerous and the most synergistic)
,,On the right of the door are the statuettes, and the safe. Beneath these are several wooden crates, and in some circumstances a Tarot Card will appear there."
What is a Tarot Card: (mild spoiler for Act 3)
,, Tarot Cards are a mechanic in Act III. When you give the Trader in the side room Holo Pelts, she shows you them. Each has a cryptic message relating to the ARG. "
