Help/Advice Act 2
I seem to be stuck in this part. I chose Grimora's deck and defeated the 3 ghosts. I defeated The Angler and The Prospector. I have tried various card combinations but have not been able to defeat The Trapper or Grimora. Grimora tells me to come back when I have a better deck but I can't find anyone else to battle to get more/better cards. I only have 1 foil.

I found the Trader but she keeps telling me to come back later.

Should I start over and try another deck or is there something I'm missing or a strategy I should be using?

That part depends a lot on the RNG, so I recommend retrying it until a good game comes out

Do you mean retrying the battle(s) or the card decks?

Try again the battles you can't win. I chose Leshy's deck and I kept trying again until out of nowhere I got lucky and was able to beat it.

I've been trying again. A couple more questions.

I almost feel like I'm missing a game mechanic. They seem to have an infinite # of cards to play but I am limited, only getting one extra card each turn.

Are there areas where I can find more decks or foils? I've been everywhere I am allowed several times and can't find any.

I also need some gems for some of the cards and haven't found any of them.

I know that to farm foils you can use the dummy in the magnificus tower. As I remember, it is very easy to farm them there because you can face it as many times as you want. There are also letters hidden around the map in chests, tombs, etc. Check everything you can. The gems thing is for another type of deck that is used in the factory, where you can find that type of cards.

edit: the thing about gem cards is also in the tower of magnificus (Mandela effect)

Well, I decided to change decks and took Leshy's deck this time. Beat the trapper on about the 3rd try and beat Leshy on the FIRST try. Go figure.

Thank you for your help.

Good choice. It is the simplest deck to use and the most easily exploitable. Good luck :)

I found combining some of Leshy's deck (mostly low to mid level cards) with the death ones seems to work quite well as when you sacrifice cards to get blood (or your creatures are beaten) you get bones that can be used to activate the death cards.

Early on, your death/bone cards will likely be quite weak; and your "basic" skeletons will die at the end of each turn so you can't use them to fill the board or play 'beatdown' strategies.

Adding in some beast cards is a solid strategy -- use the free/really cheap bone cards as sacrifices, gaining more bones back in the process! Remember also that your energy bar (the battery thing) fills up for free over time; it's mostly used with the robot deck but each deck does have a card (or at least one) that interacts with the energy mechanics.

When playing with the bone deck, the hammer becomes an important tool -- intentionally destroying (not sacrificing -- although that will also work and is preferable, of course you can only do it when you have something to play that requires sacrifices) your creatures can be used to power up certain cards, e.g. the Bone Pile; or simply for "bone farming" to allow you to play bigger creatures.

Foils = teeth, and you get them the same way. It's difficult early on, but you can and should try to "take control" of the fight and go for overkill damage -- more foils = more card packs = more strategies open up. Once you get out of Grimora's dungeon and have access to the tower, you'll be able to use the dummy as others have mentioned; but that's far from the only way to gain foils.
