bug in act 3 SPOILERS

after po3 dies and i put the stuff in the tombstone when i try and fight Grimora while the files are deleting i just get stuck staring at an empty table and nothing is on it the game does not freeze it just stays there and i can't progress

Same thing happening to me. Seems also like no such problem mentioned by anyone else. Weird. Tried checking files integrity, restarting, waiting... Nothing. In YouTube walkthroughs everything happens right away.

Okay, I managed to fix this in an absolutely weird way by editing the save file.
The game seems to be working now, hopefully it did not break anything further.

I opened the file (SaveGame.gwsave) in the game folder (wherever you have Steam, in my case it was:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Inscryption

I used VS Code but any text editor of choice would work I suppose.

I figured since the beginning of the file contained the string:

"currentScene": "finale_grimora"

... then I needed to find something Grimora-related in the file.
It turns out, there's a series of events recorded in the file, the last one being this:

So I simply deleted that chunk of the file, saved it, and relaunched the game, and the chess board appeared as it should.

Be careful though, as it might not be the best way to do that, so back up your file in advance.
