Getting new items just became impossible.

I love this game, came back for the update, I decided at first I would enjoy the new mod with all of its glory, then go for the achievements. And as it happens, I have looked and seen the new achievement for magical items after all the challenges completed, all the new cards unlocked.

"So what does it mean at all, what is the correlation" you may ask. Well, you need just the specific cards to match with painting, and as the card pool becomes larger and larger, in the end it appears there is no chance that you would get those two cards to appear within the same run.

Just to get the items, I am visiting all the trappers, just to have a look at more and more cards so that I can get it working. Alas, for the last ten runs I have finished till the end just to see that last pool of cards from the trader, and it didn't have what I needed.

I don't know how hard it would be to tinker with the card pool for my dear developer, so that chance of the same cards as in the painting would increase. But I don't have any other ideas... I have just another idea, resetting the game data completely, so I would just do the paintings before unlocking new cards... but losing all that progress, all the story like never happened, I have bonded with this game, it makes my skin crawl just to think of that option. Do you guys have any other ideas?

Edit: Got it! it is funny that, today in nearly every run, I started to find the cards I needed. Turns out all I should have done was just starting a discussion and waiting a day. :D

I was never super worried about the painting. I would stand up and go check it before I ever even visited the first trader node at the very beginning so I knew what exactly I was looking for. If it seems reasonable enough i may try for it, but I never went out of my way to make it happen at the detriment of my overall deck. If already going for a more varied deck that may include all sorts of things you could tinker around with egg deck, but I usually just ran mantis (and ringworm can come up on painting surprisingly often so that works out pretty well to). Still takes a bit, but so do a few of the other achievements. I only got one left and just can't seem to get RNGeezus to at least not outright hate me.

If I understand you correctly...

You are playing Kaycee's Mod.

You want to solve the Painting puzzles.

You didn't immediately find the same cards to add to your deck?

You didn't draw the cards you wanted in battle?

You get two Trader card picks right at the start of a Kaycee's run, I think that is already a very generous change to the normal mechanics.

Trapper/ Trader event spaces are the best chance, if you can afford just one wolf pelt that gives you 16 chances to find cards to match the painting. 8 chances from the free Rabbit Pelt and 8 chances from the Wolf Pelt.

You can try to get the card you want by matching the Cost (at the choose by cost event), or the Tribe (at the choose by Tribe event).

The Trapper/Trader boss gives you a good chance to get a card you need if you intentionally make more pelts by sending weaker cards into the traps before you trigger phase II.

Even the Prospector's Mule might drop a painting card ( I actually had this happen and completely missed my chance to play the card because I didn't think about it ).

You can also use the Hook to steal a Card you need if it is played conveniently (low chance but maybe).

When it comes to drawing the cards... You have to stalemate the enemy so they run out of cards and then you are free to draw your whole deck. This guarantees that you will get the cards in your hand at least. After that is up to you to play the cards in a way that allows you to match the painting before you end the battle or run out of Squirrels.

I don't go for tribe or matching the cost, because you are not able to clover them very efficiently, because you don't see what's behind, so I try to go for the ones that I can see as much as possible, that is my advice to other dudes struggling on this too.
Never crossed my mind to get the trapper's cards in his boss battle for the painting, that might actually work.
Yeah other ones I don't think has any chance of happening, but I will keep an eye out.

Another idea that just came to me: Try running the "No Boss Rares" Challenge, that way you get to look at another nine cards within the run.

Depends on what you are looking for, but yeah, personally I wouldn't bother calculating the chances for the card picks either.

Just get at least one Wolf Pelt to go with the free Rabbit Pelt, and make liberal use of the Trader/ Trapper events. That is the best advice I can think of.
