cant get through act 1
ok, after learning that you have to die because of "tutorial" i stopped resetting my save after a death and i beat the dude but now i am back to square one. i am guessing to move on to the next act i need to somehow use the camera on the dude but i am not sure how. i think i need some film or something but idk where to get it, i am going to assume it is in the clock or the painting that has different cards on it. not sure. how hot or cold am i?

What exactly does the failure consist of? We need a lot more detail, in order to know what's blocking your way without spoiling something.

is the game that keep killing you? i mean: you, for some reasons, keep to die and to don't find good cards or is the game? without spoiling anything, the game, for the progression of the story, can may kill you 2 o 3 times. if you still can't win, probabily is for the tactics:
You can create cards very strong with combination, called "Deathcard". if you want i can give you some example.

Without a bit more detail about what it is you keep dying to it may be hard to give you good advice. Though, this game is actually a story first and a game second so it does provide you plenty of ways to brute force your way through the game parts to follow the story even if you struggle with the actual mechanics. Without knowing more, the best generalized advice I could probably give is to grab Ouroboros whenever you see that card, as it is one of those "ways to brute force your way through". Exactly how it does so should be obvious if you play it a few times.

Just some tips if you're having trouble with defeating leshy in general.
Take high cost cards with powerful sigils and place them on lower cost cards.

Cockroach with unkillable for example costs 5 bones, so fuse the cockroach card with the skink so it gets unkillable instead. It's a one blood cost card with 1 attack. But it also has the tail sigil, and every time you gain a tail card it will have the unkillable sigil on it. So even if the tail card itself was destroyed, it will come back to your hand as a card you can play for free! The tail itself will even benefit from damage upgrades from camp fires.

Follow the stoats advice on where the hints are in the cabin. It could lead you to some powerful cards and items.

Honestly, beefing up your low cost cards as much as you can is a solid way to getting through the first act. There's also Ouroboros if you're struggling super hard.

And do not be afraid to use your items. But also try to get some items stocked up for the boss fights.

i keep getting some okay cards but they cant beet the flying bears, idk if i am doing something wrong or what. as for the puzzles i have figured out the safe and gotten the box one that gives the squirrel head. idk how to get the knife or what the clock dose. (i am going into the game completely blind and it is just making me very frustrated as it seems that i have to know about a number of spoilers just to get far in the game before playing it ):

keep getting a full row of flying bears sent my way at the fisherman, idk how to beat it. i am guessing there is some puzzle that i am just not getting in the cabin yet. i keep resetting my saves to see if i am missing some sort of prompt or hint to something that can beat it but no luck.

Yes, you're supposed to die :P The flying grizzly bears appear, when you've gotten to that point "too fast, too soon" as he says. Just go with whatever happens and DO NOT reset anything at all. It'll all become clear as you go.

The good news is the flying bears thing only happens a max of i think twice in a playthrough (assuming it actually successfully kills you, it is possible to beat believe it or not, items help a lot with that. All that happens if you do is you still need to die for tutorial related reasons at some point, but his eyes remain the crazy red for the rest of that run).

Yes, I tried that. Beat the grizzlies, was pleased with myself at first but not only did his eyes remain red after that... he stopped talking to me. Just silence. It freaked me out so much, I died on purpose, lol.

I keep having the problem where I have only 10 cards but the 2 cards I want are cards 9 and 10. 7 encounters straight, they are the last two cards in the regular deck. This has been similar in my last 5 runs. I have 1-3 match-winning cards and don't ever get them turn 1, even with only 7 cards. Not sure what's up. Last run I had two 1 blood cards with 7/7 3 lane attacks. I had 12 cards. Never got either card on trap/pelt boss. Guess I just keep smashing against it until RNG works in my favor.

it doesn't matter how good you play or how many puzzles you solve. the game won't let you get to act 2 unless you arbitrarily decide to stab yourself in the eye, gut your eye out, and then play with the eyeballs.

there's no reason to actually do this, but the game won't let any players progress to act 2 unless they do that.

you can play for all eternity and never reach act 2 unless you just randomly start stabbing yourself in the eye while playing or unless somebody outside of the gameworld tells you to start stabbing yourself in the eye.

i don't really see a lot of comments from people pointing out that this is stupid or bad design... and it hasn't been fixed since the release... so i guess most people just randomly stab themselves or most people get told to stab themselves... or they just silently give up on the game, since there's no logical way to progress further or reach act 2 or an "ending" of somekind.
