You can create cards very strong with combination, called "Deathcard". if you want i can give you some example.
Take high cost cards with powerful sigils and place them on lower cost cards.
Cockroach with unkillable for example costs 5 bones, so fuse the cockroach card with the skink so it gets unkillable instead. It's a one blood cost card with 1 attack. But it also has the tail sigil, and every time you gain a tail card it will have the unkillable sigil on it. So even if the tail card itself was destroyed, it will come back to your hand as a card you can play for free! The tail itself will even benefit from damage upgrades from camp fires.
Follow the stoats advice on where the hints are in the cabin. It could lead you to some powerful cards and items.
Honestly, beefing up your low cost cards as much as you can is a solid way to getting through the first act. There's also Ouroboros if you're struggling super hard.
And do not be afraid to use your items. But also try to get some items stocked up for the boss fights.
Yes, I tried that. Beat the grizzlies, was pleased with myself at first but not only did his eyes remain red after that... he stopped talking to me. Just silence. It freaked me out so much, I died on purpose, lol.
there's no reason to actually do this, but the game won't let any players progress to act 2 unless they do that.
you can play for all eternity and never reach act 2 unless you just randomly start stabbing yourself in the eye while playing or unless somebody outside of the gameworld tells you to start stabbing yourself in the eye.
i don't really see a lot of comments from people pointing out that this is stupid or bad design... and it hasn't been fixed since the release... so i guess most people just randomly stab themselves or most people get told to stab themselves... or they just silently give up on the game, since there's no logical way to progress further or reach act 2 or an "ending" of somekind.
