(Spoilers) Am I softlocked?

I'm in the 8bit part of the game and after I got to the crypt and picked up an epitaph piece I saved & exited out. Now I'm back and I beat all the ghosts, checked the well thrice, looked in each room, and I'm missing one epitaph piece. Not sure if it's well hidden or I somehow erased the one I picked up before exiting. Will I have to start a new game? It's not the biggest deal if I do sine I haven't gotten far in this part of the game yet, but I don't know what else I can do.

Can you solve the puzzle as well as you can and tell us which one you're missing?

I can't solve the grave stone puzzle bc I'm missing the left middle piece, probably about kandra or whatever her name is freezing to death.

That piece is "hit by a falling piece of ice" and is in the main room. There are two crypts behind Royal (the upper right ghoul) and the one on the left with the skull on the floor should have it. I suggest mashing space bar around it to see if you can trigger something, otherwise you'll have to restart the section like you feared.
