Wont start

wont start from steam, click play the box pops up to say synking then nothing, the button returns to the green play.
I have not played it on this machine before so I dont know if it is because it is a mac or something has messed up. tried the ol verify files, and un/re installing to no effect. Has this happened to anyone else?

It uses windows files for some reason so it doesn't run on Mac without an emulator.

Yeh that would do it. For some reason its flagged as mac compatible in my games library

Same problem here. They recently released the Linux and Mac ports. I was excited to try it on MacOS so I wouldn't have to reboot into Windows (boot camp) but when I start it ("play"), it waits for 2-3 sec then button returns to "play."

Same on my M1 Pro Macbook Pro.

It downloads an exe file instead of a mac native executable. I don't know why they haven't fixed the permissions yet.

Right click the game
Click properties
Go to betas
And there’s a mac and Linux beta

It worked for me on mac

Read the thing I said above here, I’ll try to find the code too but you can find it by scrolling down on the update page and they posted the code for the beta on mac but I’m pretty sure you can just select.

Just make sure you lower the graphics if you’re on a low end mac

How to play it...
To play the Mac/Linux beta, right-click Inscryption in Steam, then select Properties. Find the Betas tab and enter the code “mealwormsigil”.
