Can't get ancestral eye (Don't need anymore)

So, I played 40 hours of this game resenting my data over and over again, but I can't get the eye, I use the special dagger from the squirrel, if it matters I used the special dagger on the Prospector, and I won with it on the same turn, I also intentionally died in the very first world, before you even play the prospector, to unlock bones and the safe items. Any recommendations will be useful I'm so desperate.

What happened when you won after using the dagger? Personally I think I ended up using it on the trapper I think? or was it the Angler? Though I don't think it matters where you use it as long as it's not the final encounter.

Well on Prospector, It mentioned relighting my candles, gave me a rare card, then it mentioned how I wasn't the first one to to remove an eye then it offered me a new one. also, what do you mean by final encounter, as in I'm up 1 damage on scale, and I use dagger and win with the dagger, or final encounter as in last time seeing the certain opponent?

Ok, when offering you an eye did you see one that looked.... different (trying to avoid as much spoilers as possible)? It SHOULD be in the box he opens for you to pick a new eye from, its just about picking the right one.. Not sure if there's an RNG element to which eyes you're offered since I got the ancestral eye first shot.

As for the final encounter I mean the last fight against the guy running the game.

Maybe resetting is giving you problems. You're allowed to just die. Pluck the eye out, if you don't get the shiny one, just continue the run or let leshy kill you. Try again next time, even from the very first fight.

Thanks for the spoiler heads up, but I've seen the eye before and I've never seen it before so I was just thinking that I did a misstep during the process. because It should be that bright blue squarish looking eye but I've never seen it, is there any other conditions to getting the eye that you know of by chance?

Nope doesn't see it as resetting data. Basically just starts your run over but the overall progress (puzzles solved, cards found in the cabin itself, side quest progression, etc) remains unchanged. It basically just rerolls the map for the next run.

Yes, once you unlock an item from the cabin you keep it (replaces the pliers moving forward)

I know I lost a few times before even trying the knife so there might be some arbitrary counter to how many runs before the eye can show up.

Resetting data whas your issue. The first 2 runs are "tutorial" runs, and you can only get the special eye after that, on the 3rd run.

Lets go! Just got it, I was thinking this too because when I got to the 3rd run, the Stinkbug kept on talking about the Caged Wolf so I yolo'd it and it worked! Tysm to everyone here! I'll get everyone an award!
