Campfire Survivors learn?
So far I'm at level 12 and have been mostly using the fairly strong mantis card deck.
I know what I'm about to say could be extremely bad RNG but like the campfire survivor are NOT accepting the Ringworms at all and I've gone through like 6 or 7 campfires so far with the Ringworms. I hate to be that person that makes ♥♥♥♥ up from there own luck because that ♥♥♥♥ can be annoying but is there any hidden mechanic that can lower Ringworm eaten chances? This game holds quite a bit of little secrets here and there and Ringwormed campfires are extremely good so I wouldn't be surprised just in case. But again it could just be me lol.

I think it's just bad RNG. If I have a run where my ringworms don't get eaten by the second map I usually just try to get rid of the ringworms another way and forget about the campfires.

Fair enough it's just been extremely frustrating lol.

You only have a 50/50 chance of losing a card at a campfire. Getting rid of a starting ringworm at a campfire is the obvious strategy, but you're gambling if you focus on doing that. If it takes four fire nodes to get a ringworm eaten and there are only two fire nodes left on the map, you did not get a good return on your investment.

On the flip side... after multiple campfire nodes those ringworms should now be either solid 1-blood blocking cards, or absolute damage monsters, or a bit of both. Slap a good sigil on them (the ideal would be sac a Magpie so that you can use them for both damage dealing and pulling out something you want more), and even if they aren't a first turn victory condition then they're going to help pull off a second turn victory.

It is just RNG/confirmation bias; but it's worth noting that just because your first plan didn't fire off (no pun intended!) the way you wanted you haven't wasted those campfire nodes... you just have to adapt your strategy for those ringworms. Hell, maybe this is the run where you sac the MG to a ringworm that's had its attack boosted up; you get the same end result.... if you put a sigil on the other ringworm and then myco them, you have a more powerful card than you can easily make out of the MG since it's so hard to get a second MG to myco with.

Well yeah this is 100% true and I did have 1 won run with a god Ringworm but still I find that them actually being eaten early on is still so much better. This mixed with a triple strike wolf cub means more or less a win unless your deck gets to muddy. Just unlucky I guess.

You can get around it. if your ringworms don't get eaten, before clicking to return to the map, pause the game and back out. click continue and go back to the campfire. you don't need to worry about the hunters eating the mantis because the RNG is the same.
