In a Dark Room, need help

Won the card game, and ended up in a dark room after picking up the camera and taking a photo. Cannot interact or do anything other than move around a bit, and the room is almost completely dark. This doesn't match the walkthrough I looked at (finally, since there's no do-overs or save function), which shows some video clips. Haven't seen those. Any help short of having to start over would be helpful. Thanks.

Exit to main menu, use the new game card you acquired when you won. Prepare for change.

Ehhh.. what's the point of this? Being stuck in the cabin, being able to move a few spots... Usually it's some puzzle or thing to find. Nope, leave game, start over... :-/

Without spoilers, the story gets very meta but is not always the most thought out or well explained.

Because you found the New Game button, that's what you needed.

See, that's the thing, you never did start a new game. You just continued.

Having now gone quite a bit further, thanks to your help, I've decided that I'm not a fan of the meta-game elements of Inscryption. First third is great...rest of it so far, not so much.

what i found lame is 1- dark, 2- fact that usually in the game you're meant to go find something. So googling spoilers a bit strange. maybe i wasn't thinkinh of all the posiblities, or maybe i thouht tradisionally, a new-game would remove your current progress.

You literally had to go through the 'whole' campaign, unlock a bunch of hidden things, to get to it and when you click it it vanishes. What else could it mean, really?

I'm only a little bit into the "meta" part, and so far I agree with you. The first part was frustrating at first, with some bad RNG luck. But between death cards and some good luck, the snowball effect was insane. It was a lot of fun. The new meta stuff has me bored and irritated.

it's funny how people keep missing the new game button when the game was hinting at it right from the start. why do you think you started the game off by continuing, not starting a new game?
