OLD_DATA Speculations (Spoilers)

So, does anyone have any ideas on what the contents of OLD_DATA are? I kinda wonder if Daniel Mullins will give us the answers in the ARG or in a post launch update or if he is just effing with us. We get to see it briefly (albeit heavily censored) in the end just before the ending. Also those files that we can find throughout Act 3, do they have anything to do with OLD_DATA? Also there is the matter of the optional scene when the Bone Lord tells Luke what he knows of OLD_DATA but requests that he doesn't record his musings (which he complies), both Luke and even P0-3 are rather disturbed over what the Bone Lord says. It could be assumed that Kaycee didn't die, she was murdered. My theory is that she was someone who looked into OLD_DATA and then Gamefuna had her disposed of in the fire she died in. That being said, does anyone have their own theories?

Kaycee work for gamefuna, found some shady stuff and put the data on the game she was working on, and hide the floppy disk. (the old data)
That stuff was so dark that start corrupting the game data and that's why everything gains life.
Gamefuna found out that Kaycee discover the truth and killed her.
When luke call Gamefuna and told them that found a floppy disk with a game created by kaycee the company suspect that probably the shady stuff kaycee found was hidden inside the floppy disk and that is why they send an agent to inspect on luke. They get inside the house one night and put a recorder on the phone to hear luke's calls.
At the end, when luke find the old data (shady stuff) and calls to report it, the agent was hearing the conversation and that's why she rushes to kill Luke and retrieve the floppy disk, that was previusly destroyed by luke with a hammer.

Min-Maxing AI programs are ammegadeon level threats, because they could do things like ''turn the entire universe into paper clips '' and never stop.

Some AI research from the DoD somehow made it into the alpha version of the game, and then they tried to burn it down.
One of the devs who died in the fire was emotionally manipulated by the AI ''oh noes i don't want to die pls put me on a floppy disk in the woods '' and died.

The ARG isn't over yet but here's what we found so far.
Spoilers, obviously.

During the cold war the Russians found the corpse of a certain german dictator and in his breast pocket some cards that "hold the fate of the world". The Russians digitized those cards and put the resulting Data an the disk. That is the OLD_DATA (we think)
A spy stole the disk and smuggled it out of the country and brought it to Gamefuna.
They were tasked with developing a game that would fit on the remaining space of the disk so that anyone who opened it would find a harmless game instead of stolen data.

That's what we know for certain so far. Now comes the conjecture.
The OLD_DATA caused the characters of the game to gain sentience.
Though it might also be the satanic influence flying around at GameFuna. we're not sure on that regard.
What we do know is that the Scrybes can use the OLD_DATA to take over and change the game and that i causes them to fight over control when they were ment to work togehter.
Kaycee noticed that and panicked. She stole the disk and burried it in the forrest and wrote the coordinates on an Inscryption card wich she then hid in a resealed card pack.

Kaycee died in an "totally accidential" fire and her mother sold the sealed cards on ebay, thus ending up in Luke's possession.

....and the OLD_DATA granted them sentience because it is the fundamental essence of legit self-aware AI....be it tech or occult, the result is the same.

I'm pretty sure one of the videos said he got the cards at a garage sale, not ebay

All I know is that GameFuna has some weird stuff going on inside them, there's a lot more you learn if you played The Hex.

Do the old data files get unpacked somewhere upon completion?
I am not seeing them in the game directory

I have indeed played the Hex. I also know Sado makes a single frame cameo in Inscryption's ending.

As someone else pointed out, Luke found the re-sealed packs at Kaycee's mother's Garage Sale, not eBay. Not sure if its important, but I wanted to point it out for everyone.

It's important because the military would of found the Ebay listing, but a garage sale is effectively off-line and impossible to detect.
