Anyone know how to unlock the "Agonizing Remorse" Achievement?

As the title says, anyone figure out this achievement yet? The description is just "Don't empty the Recycling Bin", which doesn't tell you much. It's the only achievement I have left.

I tried not grabbing the card pack in Po3's temple in Act 2, then finishing the Act.

I also tried checking my computer's Recycling Bin, in case the game somehow snuck something in there, but there was nothing new.

The achievement icon matches the other two that are from Act 3, so maybe it's somewhere in there? I've searched that section pretty thoroughly, and didn't find anything that fits. Maybe it has to do with having the option to recycle cards? Maybe there's a way to get back cards you recycled or something, I don't know. I don't think it's possible to beat Act 3 without ever recycling something, as I think at least one is mandatory.

Could it be that one fight where they tell you they'll actually delete a file if your unit is killed?

Maybe. I think I killed that unit in my run, so perhaps it just has to survive? I'll give that a go when I get the chance. Btw, it doesn't delete the file.

EDIT: WAAAAAIT.
As rare as the achievement is, and considering how you had to (big Pony Island spoilers) remove Satan from your computer in Pony Island, maybe this achievement is something you get if you follow through after managing to decode log.txt? I'm still stuck at that point, but hey, I wouldn't be surprised if there's shenanigans like that waiting

That's part of the files you can access by Ctrl+C during the DOS loading screen, right? I got access to that, but couldn't remember enough DOS controls to do anything, I didn't see the log.txt file. Unless it's somewhere on my actual PC?

This is just from memory, but I think you enter the OLD_DATA with "cd OLD_DATA" and then use "ls" to show the files inside. You can then "open log.txt" and "decode log.txt"
Thinking about it, you can use the "rm" command to delete files in DOS... maybe you gotta delete Inscryption from that ingame DOS? Because the game is in there too. Wish I could try but I'm not at home

You have to do the following:
When you make a creature form a File it has to die. Then delete the file you used for the creature from your PC. Also make a backup of the file bofre ;)

Hi, I don't understand how you got to do this : Where is located the creature File thing you talk about ? in the boss fight with the Act 3 like the Internet one ?

try recycling lots of stuff in act 3? never used that mechanic so idk if you can "fill" the recycle bin?

I deleted the file after the fight and it popped then.

It sounds like the original intent is that the game would send the file to the recycling bin, and the achievement is supposed to point you to the fact that the file isn't actually gone and you can get it out of the recycling bin.

But it was changed later on to not actually touch the file (likely a good choice, really. Someone would end up losing something important because "yea, like they are going to delete my files") but the achievement remains for manually deleting it yourself.

so i like you was having a lot of trouble figuring this out being my last one i needed as well.

first step: choose a file ahead of time that you don't care about in a folder

second step: get to the point of the boss fight where it asks you to choose an important file you care about and turn it in to a card

third step: play that monster and make sure it dies! P03 will say some stuff and will say he deleted it. at this point DON'T FINISH THE FIGHT! minimize the game go to that folder the file/picture will still be there and a read me text will be as well. read it if u want its funny.

fourth step: what i did was delete BOTH the file/picture and the read me document that was created just to make sure this worked (like i said i chose a picture on my computer that i didn't care about) then i emptied my trash bin to PERMANENTLY delete them both.

fifth step: NOW finish the fight. what should happen is the ending dialogue to the fight P03 will say something like "wow cant believe you deleted it" that dialogue is the activator for the achievement and needs to be triggered to get it.

(most achievements in games have a trigger that needs to be done to activate it to pop up. you can still do everything correctly but it may not pop up because the trigger of dialogue didn't pop up like finishing the fight before you delete the files. P03 cant say his lines about deleting it if you aren't in the fight screen for him to say it ya know!)
