Hot Opinion the game is GOOD but...
I see a lot of people who are understandably a little disappointed that this wasn't as much of a roguelite deckbuilder as the trailers may have made it seem. Whilst I do disagree with this sentiment, I also understand there might be some shortcomings in people's expectations. For example I personally found act 3 to be very tedious and the least fun of the three game-play wise although the narrative was very compelling (even if it was at it's best in act 1 where there was a lot more mystery behind everything).

There was a lot of enjoyment behind discovering the secrets of each act and I personally feel that the game will have a lot of replay value as a roguelite deckbuilder - especially from the first two acts even if the gameplay does drop off a little by the third.

What I will say is that I think Inscrpytion could benefit greatly from some kind of ng+/endgame where you just get to play it again with a heavier focus on the roguelite/deckbuilder elements instead of a narrative focus. Maybe with an increased difficulty curve and more variety because as it stands the game becomes fairly easy once you figure out how to consistently limit break your deck - with the difficulty curve actually declining into the 2nd and 3rd acts.

Don't get me wrong this is an excellent game as it stands but I feel like isolating the atmosphere and gameplay from the narrative in some sort of replayable gamemode would solidify the longevity of this game as a timeless classic in the rougelite genre

Will you become back your money?
Im at 6 hours. I can't. Im likely to just rest my progress and keep playing the tutorial without some of the OP upgrades. (like the squirrel head, clover, and ring)

Ill give the real game a try tonight. but as said. I now can barely understand whats going on in the game at all. And im not sure I like whats there. The whole gem system is kinda stupid, and now I have to pre-plan my decks? Sounds like an awful chore!
You dont have to plan your deck at all. I easily finished the game with only cards i got along the way without planning anything.

This game is is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i quit 5 min into act 2. i quickly had enough of 8 bit graphic and the cringe ass ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ videos of some real human acting like ham. unfortunantyl took me more than 2 hours to get to act 2 so i cant refund. the demo is clearly false marketing. i have never been more disapointed in a game in my entire life
I'll be honest, not liking the whole experience is one thing, but if you quit as soon as you realized that there's more to the game than you knew, I feel like that's a personal issue.
You have no idea what else the game might hold, so why quit?

As someone who loved Pony Island, this game is exactly what I expected (as in: I knew I was in for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but I had no idea what kind), and I love it for what it is.
The game CHANGED. It turned into a game I didn't like. I HATE card collecting games. I hate pokemon, I hate yugioh I hate magic. I will not like this game. I bought a deck building rouge-like and was ass ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

No you do. You have to select 20 cards. The auto thing doesn't remove the aspect of having to pick 20 cards. It just does it for you. All the problems with card collecting game still exist. Its still NOT a deck building game. Nor is it a rogue-like. Its not what I was shown the game to be.

I hope you see the irony in saying you bought a deck building roguelike and in the next part complaining about how you have to build a deck.

A deck building game and a card collecting game are NOT the same. Not even close. Entirely different genres within the card game genre.

Binding of Issac two Souls, Summer Camp, Moonrakers are deckbuilding games

Pokemon and MTG are collecting games.

So you're saying in Binding of Isaac you don't collect anything, just "build" and in MTG you just collect cards, don't build anything?
What are these mental gymnastics to justify the "MUH HATE!1!11!!" for collecting?

Agree. I beat this game and it was great experience, but it really needs some NewGame+ or Endless game mode or some not scripted ACT1 gameplay, i would even pay for DLC like that.

No. Trading card genre and deckbuilding genre are two entirely different types of card games jackass

What do genres have to do with this? Maybe you should read my comment one (or 2) more time, carefully.

Pretty much every trading card game is also a deckbuilding game. You even have formats like pack and cube draft where you make a deck with randomly assigned cards similar to how you might make a deck in slay the spire. To be clear, I understand to some degree where you are coming from but it is very apparant that you have close to no experience with any type of card game. I'm not saying you shouldn't voice your concerns, but perhaps don't claim to understand subjects you aren't familiar with.

The game is bad pretentious and overrated.

Nothing to see here folks.
