Is a 4060 TI with 16GB VRAM enough?
Good morning,
I play Cyberpunk 2077 on a Core i7 14700K with 32GB ram using an Intel Arc A770 in 1080p full hd. Performance is really bad, especially outside. I have an fps range from 80 to 20, sometimes even less (especially outside :P).

That is the reason why I'm thinking about to buy a new GPU.

Is an Nvidia 4060 TI with 16GB Vram enough? I need stable 60fps to enjoy a game like Cyberpunk 2077.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Andreas

Enough for what exactly? Cyberpunk scales pretty widly depending on what settings you want to enable and how high.

For perspective: i9-12900, 64gb RAM, 4070 TI Super - I play at 4k with Path Tracing and average 68 fps with 1% at 36fps with DLLS Performance and frame generation.

I didn't want RT+PT and disabled both, I would easily be running at 120+ fps all day long.

Of course it is. 8GB VRAM is plenty for most. My game uses just under 8GB VRAM at 1440p ultrawide.

16 Go VRAM is way enough but 4060 is bad GPU.
A 4070 with 12 VRAM is better.

16gb vram should be more than enough on 1080p. id honestly skip out on the 4060 ti though. save some more money and at least grab a 4070 super (12gb). or a 7900xt (20gb) when it goes on a really good sale again.

BUT its pretty weird that you're dipping under 30 fps with those specifications, it shouldn't be possible. without telling us your graphics settings i feel like there's an underlying hardware problem thats making your game dip that low. how often does it dip to 20 fps? maybe try reinstalling graphic drivers with DDU?

High settings, DLSS Quality, Frame Generation on, Ray tracing off, it'll be fine. More than 100fps at 1080p. Around 80 or 90 at 1440...

IF you were upgrading from an old 10 series card I'd say it would be a no brainer... It's barely any faster than the intel card you've already got though.
