[FIXED]Crashing on startup

No crash report, no launcher, nothing. When I press "Play" on steam it says "Running" for a second or two and just closes itself, nothing opens, like literally nothing. After 2 seconds it's "Play" available again.

To be more precise the problem is that REDprelauncher.exe doesn't fire up. When opened via Steam it just "eats" the error and does nothing. If I run REDprelauncher.exe from the folder directly it says:
"REDprelauncher.exe - Application Error

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

I tried reinstalling, validating the files, I've disabled windows updates long time ago so I doubt it's the windows fault (someone before me mentioned he has windows up to date and the game doesn't work for him)

I am glad to see that I am not the only one here with that problem. It was working just fine, next day it doesn't start up.

Tried reinstalling, tried some magic with veryfing flies. It runs fine if I start cyberpunk.exe from main folder but then steam overlay doesn't work and I don't get achievements.

I had to install some C++ stuff. No idea why it suddenly stopped working.

Please tell us about your PC system/setup. No way to troubleshoot without that information. Are you running an Intel 13th or 14th gen CPU by any chance?

windows 10, 4070ti, 16gb of ram, amd ryzen 7 5800x.

Sorry but how on earth would this be any relevant? I could run the game flawlessly, I was playing it for a week straight and suddenly one day I just can't run it. I would understand the nature of the question if wouldn't be able to run it from the very beginning.

Crashing on start-up?

Was playing the game entirely fine, just driving around, then randomly crashed. Now, I have been unable to get the game to go past the startup screen, as it just crashes. I have done literally every single "fix" I have found, and nothing is working. Any other suggestions? Or should I just shelf this one?

Same problem, run the game from the EXE directly from the folder, it works.

Most likely, the location you entered is damaged and during installation the files were located incorrectly and because of this you are thrown out of the game, because the location cannot load. I've had this a couple of times. i just kept re-trying and re-validating the game files. Worked again in the end. Also be sure all updates are done. nvidia driver update fixed it once.

I have already updated drivers. I honestly am at the point where I just am over it. I have genuinely tried every single fix I could find. Nothing worked.

Crashing on Startup

Had the game running fine literally yesterday. Now it won't start at all, all mods up to date and I have not installed any new ones.

The Game doesn't run for me since aug 17th either. Pressing the play button and the game doesn't do anything. When trying to start the game from the game folder it says missing file msvcp140_1.dll that file does exist in the windows folder with a time stamp from april 27th2024.

So the game worked for me for years without changing the hardware of my setup. I'm reading a lot about the cpu gen. My guess is, that something entirely different happend to the game.

I also tried reinstalling, as well as replacing the named dll with an older file and adjusting the registry. Didn't change anything either and went back to the original setup afterwards.

My PC specs:
Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700K 3.40 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Gforce 4090 by Gigabyte
Windows up to date

Yes, the game runs just fine, but it doesn't wire to Steam, right? It doesn't show on your profile, it doesn't let you get achievements and so on. I want my achievements, I refuse to play otherwise.

Is there any workaround to "link" Cyberpunk game from Steam library to that direct exe from the folder? Maybe through launcher options?
