crashing on loading screen after patch 2.21
I had the game with tons of mods working perfectly fine, except when trying to change weather in nova city's CTE menu it just wouldnt take effect while selecting new weathers (the game was running fine with high fps full RT and RR on, just the weather wouldnt change on command)

since I saw a new graphics mod I wanted to try, I decided to do a fresh reinstall of the game to start modding from scratch, after leaving it downloading over night I noticed it updated to version 2.21 on a clean install (deleting the folder in steamapps) then the game started to crash while trying to load any saved game or even starting a new game, no matter what I cant get into night city at all, it crashes to desktop right in the middle of loading a saved

what I've tried:

-removing all mods
-reinstalling the game
-deleting all temporary files in appdata (including .json files and settings)
-disabling Ray Reconstruction
-disabling ray tracing
-disabling dlss
-rolling back to version 2.2 (wtf??)
-reinstalling older versions of nvidia drivers
-setting all keybinds to default
-I even tried a solution from the 65784658th google page telling me to assign physX to the GPU rather than CPU

my rig: ryzen 7 5800x3D, 32gb ddr4, RTX 3090 24gb (no OC)

Yes. I went on steamapps, deleted the whole folder > steam library, uninstall > app data, deleted the whole cd project folder, them downloaded everything again, twice. (Did the same thing to download the 2.2 version

It won't load any saved games or a new game for me either. Game is completely broken now.

I don't use mods and it crashes for me on startup. This is dumb.

i've had issues with the game crashing as well, and turning of Ray Reconstruction fixed it

Same, it won't boot AT ALL. Can we please get a fix?

turning off RR is up there on my list of already tried, sadly
Only thing that worked for me (running 4090 + 5800x3d + 32gb RAM):

Deleting UserSettings.json in users/[your name]/appdata/local/cd project red/cyberpunk 2077

This puts all settings to default. Then I troubleshooted each graphics setting until I found the culprit.

For me it was PATH TRACING. Once I disabled this, no more crashing. I can max all the ray tracing options, use the transformer model for DLSS, etc. But once I enable path tracing it crashes within seconds. So no path tracing for me until they release a fix.

This is also on my already tried list, I disabled path tracing and normal ray tracing, didn’t work either

I don't use mods and the game crashes for me on startup too, since it updated to version 2.21 (the game was working fine before). I'm annoyed and sad for this 1000th bug.

Game wouldn't even make it to menu after update. Now it does.

Deleting UserSettings.json in users/[your name]/appdata/local/cd project red/cyberpunk 2077 worked for me. Thanks for the tip
I had the same issue and did the same purge only to find it didn't help. However, what did help was rolling back the Nvidia graphics driver to the one before DLSS 4 was added (before Dec/24). I have had NO issues since, unless I mess with any of the new DLSS 4 options (Running 4080 + 7950X + 32gb RAM),

Game don`t start after first cinematic. Please do something with that. Game is broken after path.

Exactly the same issue. Cyberpunk crashes on logos screen and crashes whole PC. That's sucks. At first it was clear to me that Razer Cortex is a problem. I uninstalled it but still sometimes crashes happen. So I thought about Nvidia Overlay. I've heard that i may be an issue even if it was working before. Just right after 2.21 update I could play even with Nvdia Overlay. I don't know. Maybe Cyberpunk is sway more sensitive to overclocked GPU than any other game. Still that's the problem CP Red should fix
