Random black splotchy artifacts and flickering on NPC's
I'm using a 4090 mobile GPU, max settings, path tracing on with DLSS quality and ray reconstruction. Is this a symptom of a failing GPU and/or VRAM? I've linked a video showing what's happening. A good example of this is at 1:00 in the video with the woman wearing a backwards ball cap. Is anyone else experiencing this?

If I had to guess I'd say that's an artifact of ray-tracing. Try, as a test, disabling RT altogether (including path tracing) and see if the problem goes away. Remember that path tracing is still an emerging technology.

Don't forget about the benefits of a clean reinstallation of graphics drivers, too. Make sure to perform a Display Driver Uninstaller cleaning while in Safe Mode first.
It's Path tracing been doing my head in also tried turning off all shadowing options nothing fixed it apart from turning off Path Tracing.
Ray Reconstruction noise is crazy bad notice it in lifts and close to wall's in V's h10 place here's hoping Dlss 4.0 update fixing some of the issue's but doubting it.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I turned off path tracing, which somewhat fixed it, but it only totally went away with DLSS turned off. I also noticed some white flashes on certain objects with DLSS turned on. I still wonder if this is a GPU thing or if DLSS and/or path tracing is just bugging out

This has been going on in CP2077 since release day. Certain objects will just randomly shoot out a nuclear-level brightness, even through solid objects. I spent some time trying to figure out what was causing it but I'm convinced it's just an un-correctable glitch in the REDEngine itself.

My advice is to stop chasing these little graphical bugs if you can and just enjoy the actual game.

Another update, there seems to be flickering on the rotating advert in Kabuki. Not sure if this is present in anyone else's game, but it's driving me nuts lol. I'll link a video showing this.

In Kabuki, it is a game part.. not a bug... but on NPC, that's a different strory. These black atrifacts occured from time to time on the 2.13-2.20 version of the game, but not so much....
Same here! I just upgraded to a new video card to try out ray tracing and the npcs have black flickering artifacts. I believe if you disable Sun Shadows, Path Tracing, and Ray Reconstruction then you can avoid this issue...
