cant open loot boxes

ive encountered a issue where I can't open loot boxes and its lead to me not being able to complete certain quests as quest orientated items are within these boxes, any fixes?

I've just picked the game back up after having played it at launch...so this prolly won't help..but on the offchance it's the same problem.
I had one loot container that wouldn't allow me to loot it, saved and loaded said save, then i could loot it.

Yes...doing a quicksave (F5) on keyboard and then a quickload (F9) will usually free up a loot box or other item you can see but can't pick up.
