Weird one -- Video disappears after a few minutes play, but HUD remains

So... I've been playing every day since 2.2, everything is fine. Today I start my game, play for a few minutes and the video image cuts out...but all the HUD elements remain. Health bar, illuminated gun sights and crosshairs, pinged/highlighted enemies, Quest text, it's all there. Settings show fine, also the in-game map, Journal, Inventory etc. I do run mods and actually added a couple today...but I've deactivated them, along with all mods that alter or improve texture, a LUT...now nothing is enabled that I haven't been running for a long time.

I run a multi-monitor setup and this same behavior occurs when I switch to a different monitor. I have turned all my graphics setting to Off or Low (when there's no Off setting).
Game files have verified okay. The only thing I can think of doing now is trying a different GPU, which I actually have somewhere, but I'm not quite prepared to do major surgery right now.

Any ideas, folks? Anybody ever see something like this?

Never mind...this appears to have been caused by a strange interaction between my mod setup and a corrupted save file...or a series of them. A complete deletion and reinstall of my game seems to have fixed it.
