Crashing on game start 2025
Since I updated to windows 24H2 and the latest nvidia graphics drivers I've had trouble booting up cyberpunk. I've disabled my mods. I've uninstalled and reinstalled cyberpunk. I've restored my graphics card settings and tried not using the nvidia app. I'm finding it difficult to rollback to windows 23H2 and the previous set of graphics drivers which were working well.
Game typically crashes a few seconds after the title screen.

Don't use Nvidia driver 572.XX, it still has many many issues including BSODs.

Stick to 566.36

DUDE, DISABLE RAY RECONSTRUCTION is mandatory to do so. ( on transformers model at least).

DISABLE RT , or at least RR to do the trick.

I'll drink to that. Cheers, Bud. Hope it works.

Thank you so much for the suggestion.
After some research on how to uninstall and rollback using DDU This has solved my issue.
Windows 24H2 seems to be more stable with these older nvidia drivers.

Ray reconstruction and other in game settings were not the cause here.
I am able to max out all settings with my pny 4080 super and get just under 90fps.

I like using he nvidia app for my drivers and overclocking. However, the latest set of drivers cause the above problem AND nvidia's overclocking is causing problems in other games, like Black Ops 6. BO6 was freezing due to nvidia overclocking with the latest drivers. I have previously not had any issues with overclocking.

My game has no mods, and I haven't had any issues until recently updating my game and driver within the last month.

If NASCAR drivers crashed as often as this game has been for me lately, their races would actually be entertaining to watch.

Intel I7-2470K - 3.4GHZ
16GM of Ram
GPU: Gforce TX 4060 TI
Game is running on an SSD

Going to try disabling ray reconstruction and maybe direct x settings to see if that fixes it. My crashes have been completely random (Just the game itself crashing. sometimes the game will be fine for up to an hour, other times it will crash after 10 minutes. Also tried disabling both the Nvidia Gfroce game overlay and the steam overlay.)

sorry to say but it looks like your processor is below min-spec your i5 may just not cut it.

Processor: Core i7-6700 or Ryzen 5 1600

Mine is just moody after the latest update. Sometimes it runs on the first attempt, sometimes I have to restart it upto 5 times. It does not bother me too much so I did not even try to do anything about it, but it is still a strange behavior.

I3, I5, I7, I9 been out since 2009-2010 and just means budget, mid grade, High end and enthusiasts or whatever basically. He's got a 13th gen cpu making it 7 gens above min spec and 8 years newer then min spec. It's 8 core/12 threads and a pretty good cpu.

Sky, not enough info dude. Are you using the correct gpu? Which driver version? Is Ray Reconstruction On and or is DLSS Framegen On? Try 566.36 drivers.

Adding to catch22atplay's questions. When is it crashing? Can you get to the main menu at all? Have you tried to verify file integrity?

did rolling back to 566.36 do the trick?
Can confirm that 566.36 is far more stable than any drivers afterwards. Man, in my case, I thought I was going to have to replace my PSU. Everytime I launched, my comp rebooted, but I determined it's all because of the newer Nvidia drivers. I couldn't even crash my system with Furmark, but nope, something in that driver throws a massive wattage meatball out and my system doesn't like it at all.

Nvidia needs to stop screwing around. Every single thing since they've released the 50 series has been hot garbage.

Specs: Win 11 24H2
9800x3D
Asus Rog Strix 4090
32GB RAM
SSD
PSU Corsair RM Shift 1200W (I have way more than enough to handle Cyberpunk)

I got the solution people! I needed to update the motherboard driver. After that I didnt have any crashes. I even sent a ticket to cd project red and they recommended this as well.

So update the motherboard drivers.

Nope did all that. Its basically a rng crash sometimes game crashes, sometimes just display driver, sometimes bsod, its not out of date drivers, rolling back nv driver also fixed nothing. There isnt much point in trying to fix its issues its outside control of consumer.
