No NPC Audio or Radio Sound
Don't really see many people posting about this, but I don't have audio for any NPCs on the street nor do I have audio for the Radio in V's car. I can hear the main story dialogue but I'm not sure what else is missing for me. Any fixes?

I'm having similar issues. Very low radio volume whether I'm in a vehicle or out in the world it's barely noticeable. TV shows and ads have no audio or at least not that I can discern or hear.

I also randomly lose the sounds of my footsteps. They will just disappear and the only way I can get them back is to exit the game and reload.

Random NPC encounters voices other than during the main dialogues are really low as well. Really sucks because it's really annoying and pulling me out of the immersion and atmosphere.

Had exactly the same problem.
- Right click on the volume symbol next to your windows clock
- "Sounds"
- "Playback" Tab
- Choose your speaker (double click or right + "Properties")
- "Enhancements" tab
- there check "Disable all enhancements".

For me this made the game sound normal including TV, Radio, NPCs, Gunshots, ...
Only problem for me is that I have to pump up my speaker volume quite a bit because the overall game volume (also for Red Dead Redemption 2 and some other games) dropped significantly without those enhancements.. So if there's any windows sound effect or something my neighbours will wake up..

I check "enable audio enhancements" and all work \0/

Having a similar issue where all NPC dialogue quit working. No VR here though.

Hey Everyone! I found a fix, hopefully it works for you guys as well. I unplugged my VR headset and relaunched the game and I have audio again. Guess I'll have to remember to keep it unplugged whenever I play this. Hope this helps at least one other person!
Wooooowwww.... worked for me as well, i have an WMR Headset, unpluped, restart and it works! Thanks a lot

Nothing fixes this bug... I guess I'll have to wait for a patch.
I'm not even sure if they are aware of this specific bug. It makes the game unplayable unlike the minor bugs.

So i fixed it for myself. Did a couple things so can't pin point exactly how but what i did. 1 Went into my realtek audio control. Put audio to come through headset instead of headset and speak. 2 Turned off and turned back on Dolby audio and set it to gaming balanced. 3 Then changed in game sound settings to "Studio reference". Got all the Npc background audio working and all tvs radios/stereos work. Didn't realize how captivating the commercials in the elevator are lol. Hope some of thia helps someone out there

So in my case this solved the problem: https://steamah.com/cyberpunk-2077-how-to-fix-audio-issues/

I did what says in instruction and I am enjoying vibes of Night City with full sound ;)

This is a typical symptom of surround sound running over stereo speakers.

Make sure your speaker configuration is set properly in Windows, and that you don't have surround sound/Dolby Atmos enabled on a non-surround setup, because obviously the game will then play audio over channels that are not available.
Sorry, but how to check speaker configuration for headphones? I can see no option for that in Windows 10 control panel.

I don't know if you can configure headphones in the same way as speakers in Windows 10. To configure surround sound on speakers you can type 'sound' in the Windows 10 search bar, open the 'Sound' app, right-click the audio device you're using and select 'configure speakers'.

For headphones the configure option will likely not be available. You could go into properties and make sure everything is set correctly and no enhancements or spatial audio settings are enabled when not needed. Or you may have to configure your headphones via third-party software from the manufacturer.
The configure option is there, but if I uncheck the background speakers, it doesn't do anything. And the third-party software doesn't have that option at all, sadly, especially after latest Windows update which screwed up LHUB-DTS symbiosis

When I started a new game the radio works as expected.
But then I load my 40+ hours save and the radio just not working.

I think this is a bug that is triggered after you played for a while.

And none of those solutions worked for me.

I haven't been near my machine since the patch dropped, is this still not fixed with the most recent 1.05 patch??

when i play the game in stereo mode its perfectly fine. other games in surround/spacial work fine but with cyberpunk it either crackles or im missing sounds for it. so ive been just sticking to stereo and have not looked back

If you use nahimic with an msi board, try using S/PDIF or an USB Soundcard. Nahimic & Cyberpunk don't work together properly. Since all new MSI sound drivers come with nahimic, there is no easy fix for that.
