Can't scan anymore? Idk if bug or just user error.

So I just finished Panams side quest where things got a little ''outta hand'' so to say. After I finished it up and got out of the tank, I was naked, everything was unequipped, so I equipped stuff again. Then I noticed I couldn't properly scan anymore, where you zoom into things, hackable stuff gets highlighted and you can select your quickscan options.

All it does now is randomly highlight objects, but it doesn't zoom in, doesn't give me that UI either, nor can I select any hacks to do.

Is this story related perhaps? I've checked all my quickhacks and what not.


What could it be? It wouldn't surprise me if i'm just missing something that was unequipped as well.. but I can't find it.


Also a quick heads up before I get those typical ''you don't even own the game'' people here and blame it on torrenting or something: I own it on GOG.

I think I had this issue at the end of the mission, but will eventually fix. That area is consider safe, and will block certain feature. A combination of bad decisions of not adding a feedback for the plaer know when things are locked, and bugs.

Have you tried to start other missions that triggers phone calls? Usually fix your actions.

save, exit the game and reload, this is the fix to most of the bugs like this

Can confirm, for me quitting and reloading the game worked. I had the exact same issue at the exact same point in the story.

Worked for me too haha. Dunno why I didn't think of it before, figured since I was naked something got unequipped and it was an error on my end! How much a restart can help.

Just reloed last save. It usually solves these kind of problems.

Same issue, same mission. Exited, restarted PC, etc, nothing fixes it. I kept playing hoping it would work itself out and now none of my autosaves go back far enough to undo this issue. Anyone figure out a more robust fix?

Worst case, trigger a cutscene (visiting the joytoys on jigjig street works). This generally resets everything.

Had the same issue; exiting game, exiting steam (it always has issues when I exit the game until I close and reopen steam; steam logo all the time which doesn't let me start the game) - then restarting game and it worked again even with the current savegame

Same here, same mission. Happened in an earlier mission but fixed itself. Thing is - How come Panam is fully clothed once you kill the Raffen and get out but I was standing there shooting the ♥♥♥♥ with Saul and co with my ♥♥♥♥ out lmfao

using the fast travel point at the camp and coming back again to the camp fixed it for me. Also messed with the eye cyberware optic part but I doubt that's what did it.

i've never had to exit the game. i just save and reload, or reload the previous save, and this fixed whatever bug like 99% of the time

Found enother fix. Me being me, I wanted the sandstorm to last after you wake up cuz i like the sand storm. So i kept goin and after i got a call from a fixer, my scanner stoppedbeing stupid and worked like a charm once more.
