fps drops, my ps5 runs this game better than my pc

Can someone help me? I bought this game and am unable to play it. Anytime that I move my mouse around I get a significant amount of frame drop to the point it's very choppy and laggy. it doesn't matter what setting I have the graphics for the game. i have a ryzen 7 5800x with an rtx 360ti and 16gb ddr4. my ps5 runs this game way better than my pc. it's unplayable on pc. i've requested a refund from steam for the game but would still like to play it on pc. i have a video that i can upload to youtube to see how it does. thanks

I wouldn't say it's a PC version problem because my i7-10700K and RTX 3080 can run this game at 1440p with all details maxed, including "psycho" level ray tracing, getting 60fps, no problem.

I dont have this issue in a 6700k (released 2015) playing at 2k so check your system right now. Maybe a V-Sync issue?

i run this game better than any ps5 could lol and i dont have to down sample textures or limit graphics like the ps5 does.....4k on ps5 isnt real true 4k either. 2080 super and i7 9700k runs this game beautifully.

Try turning off GPU accelerated rending in Steam settings -> Interface. This caused a lot of mouse stutter in Rainbow Six Siege for me, but nothing as bad as that clip

Question: Do you have a controller you could play the game with? Try playing with a controller for a while and see if the issue persists. If the issue goes away, your mouse is the problem.

The video makes it look like you are running out of VRAM. Reset all video settings back to default and restart. Then start turning down texture resolution, shadows, SSAO detail and screen space reflections to minimum and see if the issues still happen.

looks either like you run it on a hard drive or you are running out of VRAM. Either use Afterburner or similar to look at it or even taskmanager. It has VRAM monitoring graphs.

thanks for the suggestions guys. i figured it out. my mouses polling rate was at 8000hz. i dropped it down to 500hz and problem solved.

This thread saved me! I also had unplayable stuttering, it would drop from 50fps to 1fps every time I tried to turn. I spent over an hour adjusting graphics settings and updating drivers and nothing worked. But lowering my mouse from 1000hz polling to 500hz completely fixed it for me and now the game runs smoothly.

Never had this problem in any other game, although I mainly play indies made in Unity or Unreal. It's annoying having to launch razer synapse and change the polling every time I open the game, so hopefully they eventually fix whatever's wrong with RedEngine.

You can set profiles for a razer mouse, I've got a low latency profile I apply to certain games.

Do the profiles still work even if Synapse isn't running?
