Memory leak? FPS drop when opening menus after playing for a while.
Anyone experience this or anyone have some way or some mod to get rid of it? Already try googling it but no luck. Pretty sure it have something to do with opening map menu. FPS drop could trigger as early as 20 min in if I'm unlucky. Happen more frequently when I'm trying to gig hunting and need to open map menu to find fast travel device which also opening map menu when using it. After fps drop in menu it will also start to affect gameplay, need to restart the game every 30mins - 1hr, very annoying.

I just reinstalled the game yesterday and I started noticing this. After playing a while, I'll open the map and the fps will tank for like 10-15 seconds but go back to normal.

Think everyone will be seeing the frames drop on opening the map to some degree, although obviously impact of that spike is going to vary hugely.

The lingering reduction in fps is also something being reported by a few others so would suggest for that especially to put in a report to CDPR: https://support.cdprojektred.com/en/cyberpunk/pc/sp-technical/issue/1775/performance-issues-3

It's been a problem since the game launched in 2020, not sure what causes it because it's not a consistent issue, but it's happened to be a few times since 2020. Start playing with higher FPS and then it randomly stops going above the 60s even out in the Badlands where it can run over 100 FPS. Gets even worse with RT settings.

I've played the 1.0 and back then I remember can play with no fps drop in menus for about 5-10 hrs straight, but there're so many issue back then though. Memory leak is a fair trade off imo. If they fix it, this game would be so good. The other stuff is in a pretty good spot right now.

I mean it'll never be the same visual quality with the older versions. It's steadily been looking worse and worse for the sake of making the game more playable for people who can't afford high end GPUs.

If I were them, I would've compiled all of the heavier effects and made it its own setting for people that want the absolute best visuals, rather than take it all away from everyone.

So ehhh, looks like I found the fix, for me at least.
In Interface Option, I change something not because of trying to fix this but want more immersion.
- Damage Number Mode: Off
- Overhead Damage Numbers: None
- Threat and Damage Indicator: Off
- Ammo Counter: Off
- Hints: Off
Then I notice playing for about 2-3 hrs no fps drop in menu at all and no drop in gameplay also
Either that or something else, might be I do almost all of the quest on maps now or the Sweet Dream quest where they take all my stuff.

It makes absolutely no sense at all.

I do game dev to some extent. The explanation I can come up with these changes is, they might forgot to cull something out, like damage number popping out for each time there's damage on something or even something else got damage off screen, that's an object per damage number and if they didn't do pooling, it will stack up inside the scene, and this game where they probably stack the scene together without loading a new scene or new instance to prevent too many load screen, objects can stack up like crazy, in this case it probably is UI object which might have some components that is inside of it that can cause issue even with the culling or pooling. With the engine they use that feel like they just duct tape everything together, anything is possible, in a bad way.

It was supposed to be fixed with 1.61 but it isn't. Very annoying.
