I have a problem that is preventing me from playing the game with Ray Tracing turned on.
The game runs 100% fine with DLSS Quality & Ultra grapics +Ray Tracing disabled. 60 FPS, no issues.
But when I turn ANY ray tracing option on, doesn't matter which one, the game crashes every 5 - 10 mins.
This bug happens every single time I play the game with Ray Tracing turned on.
Anyone with the same problem or a solution?
Get 60+ fps on ultra with everything maxed out at 1080p resolution without DLSS and Raytracing being off.
I get 30+ fps with Raytracing on and DLSS off, which is fine, I'll give up on 60 fps with how good Raytracing looks. But within minutes of turning Raytracing on, no matter the settings (graphical settings lowered, DLSS on) the game crashes.
Not sure if it's a problem on Nvidia's side of things or CDPR.
Edit: Did some poking around and it seems this is a problem for lots of people, 2080, 2080 super, 3070 or 3080, 1080p, 1440p, doesn't matter, people are experiencing this problem across the board with Raytracing and Cyberpunk. Guess will just have to wait for Nvidia or CDPR to roll out a fix for it.
Yesterday I was playing the game and like many of you, I felt in love with the graphics while wandering in Night City under the rain. I loved the moment, so much so that I decided to turn ON Ray Tracing, knowing that my PC wouldn't give me proper frames per second, but just for the scenery I wanted to enhance my game a little.
But as soon as I hit 'Apply' after turning on RT in the settings my game crashed, and now I can't get it to work because it crashes right after the first screens after starting it up : "CD PROJEKT RED" then the game crashes.
Anyone got any idea how to fix this? I have tried deleting "options.json" in the settings and then verifying the game cache within Steam, but still doesn't matter.
I also tried to change some values inside this document, especially for Ray Tracing (from "true" to "false") but I am unsure if it really did change anything. Perhaps I didn't do it right too.
Let me know if anyone has the same issue.
Thanks!
Cheers!
And try deleting the UserSettings.json file
This was literally the fastest reply and fix that worked. You are a hero and an absolute legend. I was about to reinstall this 64gb monster. Take my dino award.
