Really bad texture pop in. It's terrible!!
Seriously considering removing this game. (I have the GoG version). The texture pop in is just plain awful. Yes, I have it installed on an SSD (Samsung 970). I have issues with vending machines having awful pop in. buildings missing textures which only load in when I get closer. I'm running at 1440P and I've tried with and without RT. I have an RTX 4070 Super 12GB VRAM

Case in point. Fast travel to the petrochem stadium in Dogtown. Look towards the wall in the distance with the graffiti on it. Move slightly backwards so that you're now standing with your back against the fast travel kiosk type thing. The textures on the wall have now gone low res. Move forward and they go high res.

I'm getting this issue now in loads of places. It's totally broke emersion in the game, it's now ruined for me.

I would first try to check files integrity. I cant imagine any other reason, because your syst seems enough to play without such artefacts, especially if turn off RT.

I've deleted and reinstalled the game. Deleted the config files in the appdata folder, no change.

This is clearly not related to the game, on my 8 GB 1080 GTX everything loaded fine on a regular SATA SSD, now I have the same system but a 4090 video card, maybe the problem is in the motherboard? Is PCI buggy?
Intel Xeon e5 2690 v0 (2012)
DDR 3 1866 64 gb
Sata SSD
new Nvidia 4090 old Nvidia 1080 GTX 8gb)
such problems are not observed

How is with other games/software? Everything run as expected/intended?

How stable are windows? any "blue screens"?

Do you have slow HDD mode enabled?
Obsessive Power Jul 22, 2024 @ 9:57pm
Only this game has this issue. GPU driver is the latest version. HDD mode is off. Going to do a clean driver install with DDU later though.
Obsessive Power Jul 23, 2024 @ 12:48pm
I ran DDU and installed the drivers again. No effect.

Now I'm doing a clean install, following the guide on the CD Projekt Red website and deleting additional files in the appdata folders and stuff. Now downloading the game again. Fingers crossed.

If you still have a problem, make sure you are using the rtx 4070 and not the integrated graphics of the motherboard.
i.e. (Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics)
You can disable the Intel graphics by opening the device manager, right click the intel graphics and disable it.

It's not as bad now, but some pop-in is quite bizarre, like paper cups and other garbage appearing low res or just appearing and disappearing from certain distances. Definitely using my 4070, I'm got RT and frame generation on.

GeForce Experience gets a bad rap but you might try installing it and use the optimize function to establish a good baseline for your settings. If it runs better fine, if not you can uninstall it without a problem. I have a 4080 and use it cause I'm lazy.

Lol that is lazy. 😂

Oh god no. I've got the Nvidia App, but I never optimise games with it (I'm British and I'm not changing the spelling of 'optimise' to one with a z lol). I change the graphics settings myself. Besides, excluding the resolution (I play at 2560x1440), nearly everything is maxed. Only SSR is on medium, it doesn't need to be higher as I've got RT on.

Some other things also pop-in. Like the railings on the steps of that pyramid club in Dog Town. That happened my 3080 also.

This game has it's own way of managing its VRAM budget. When I had a 3080 10GB, the game would mostly sit at around 9.7-9.8 usage. Same settings on my 4070 Super, and the game sits at around 11.5GB usage.

I think It's finer now. Anyway, I've got into the Dead Space remake, so mostly playing this now. 😊. Of course, any feedback is most appreciated 👍

Are you using DLSS or FSR? Because it gets a lot of control over your graphics and can do all kinds of strange stuff.

Some of the pop in is normal, I think. It's limitations of the cruddy engine they made the game with.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but try setting the "Shader cache size" in Nvidia control panel to something other than the default (I keep it at 100 GB, but read that 10 GB is most common and good ).

Not sure if this helps, or what it really does, but might be worth a try :lunar2019smilingpig:

(I might add I'm also running at 1440p, using RT, and don't have the issue. Specs in profile)
