phone doesn't work

i can open the phone but there is no button prompt to switch over to the "CONTACTS" tab

How far into the game are you?
Did you add any mods that change or add text messages (such as pmo or missing persons: fixers hidden gems) that might have changed the game too much?
Can you post a screenshot of this?

Can't remember the key to switch between the two. Was it 1 and 3? Or maybe T and Z? Most obvious place to check is in the key bindings in the settings menu, just make sure you don't change anything by accident.

just killed Oda and not using any mods
