I played almost 300 hours of base game on 1.63 and PL on 2.0 without crashes. Didn't play for few months and came back to the game just to see it has become an absolute crashfest.
At first it was only in Japantown, specific areas that are 100% reproducible. But now it crashes left and right all over the place. Hope it isn't going to be the case for you.
Anyway, I've done 20+ hours of test on this since the game is now basically unplayable, and I've found the culprits (for me)
See if the following conditions apply to you
- Do you have Phantom Liberty installed?
- Do you have Ray tracing/Path tracing turned on?
- Are you on patch 2.12 (or 2.10, 2.11)?
If so, then what's happening to me might apply to you as well, read this thread for full info.
