C++ update?

Been out of the game for a several days. Received a c++ udpate on my last login a few minutes ago. Last login my fps was around 85-90 just roaming the city, now it is in the low to mid 50's lol....Anyone else get this update or know anything about it? Just a note, I haven't performed any uninstalls or repairs to any of my c++ dl's so not sure whatsup.

If you mean the Steamworks Common Redistributables, yeah I just got it as well. Haven't played anything yet since then though.

These files include:

Visual C++
.NET Framework
DirectX Redistributable
OpenAL
PhysX

These files are part of the Steamworks Common Redistributables files. They are bundled together and sent as an update to your Windows computer.

Previously, each developer that needed to include these files as part of their game had to write a separate script for a user to install it. The problem with this approach was that every time a game installs, the script would reinstall the files.

This happened even if all these games used the same file. For example, if games X, Y, and Z required DirectX, these games would install the same file on your computer through their separate game installers. This created a LOT of duplicated files if you had games that required the same version of DirectX.

Now, what Steam did was to streamline this process, and this is how the Steamworks Common Redistributables came to be.

This greatly optimized the number of files needed, and it saved download bandwidth and storage space.

I only read VC Redist not Steamworks Common Redistributables. What is the difference between the two?

I only read VC Redist not Steamworks Common Redistributables. What is the difference between the two?

Reloaded a bios profile and reverted a few bios settings made today and it seems back to normal. Shaded areas are still blah but it feels better anyways.

Don't know what it was as Steam wasn't really showing what the update was for. It only said somthing like "mix", "misc", "min" or "max" (can't remember correctly what it was) behind the update status where the play button usually is. However why would there be a new C++ update? I thought it updates that when installing the game instantly. Has it to do with Windows updating a few days ago?
Anyways, for the sound issue described before I can't speak as my sound is generally very low even at 100% but that is because I'm using different headphones because my previous ones broke, sadly (hopeflly the new ones will arrive tomorrow). So anyone else confirming the sound issue?

Did you check your headset specific volume? There is a master volume and there me also be a headset volume. Master volume won’t matter much if your headset volume is very low.

It doesn't have a volume thing and it's not a headset and actually headphones. However sound was fine with my old ones but unfortunately, as mentioned before, they broke last Thursday. The sound in general with the backup ones I have isn't great so it's not an issue. I was just worried for when new ones arrive soon that sound might be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up based on the previous comment. That's why I asked if anyone could back that up.
