Game constantly crashing
Game is constantly crashing on startup, and if I somehow get through the initial loadscreens, the game will just randomly crash midgame play after about 15-20 minutes.

running the game in windows 7 comp mode fixes the start up crashes, at the expense of about a 30 second hangup on boot, but I keep crashing mid game randomly. I've verified file integrity multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled completely, updated nvidia drivers, updated windows, and the game is completely unmodded. I have no clue whats going on, anyone else having similar issues?

I played the game about 6 months ago on this exact computer perfectly fine, had no issues at all until now.

pc parts if the info is needed:
rtx 4070ti
i7 14700k
32gb ddr5
windows 10

Game crashes
The game crashes without any errors, every few hours.

13600
3070
32 gb ram ddr4

no issues with component temperatures, no freezing/hanging, game settings mixed low/medium/high.

When i looked at the technical section, I saw that more than one person had the same problem, please fix your game.

are these crashes random or they happen during a specific activity? like combat, driving or using a certain implant.

Same issue here.
Yesterday the game crashed at least 15 times before I could randomly play it.
Fun times

Did you OC your GPU ? Some games will crash because of it (or driver issue).

I did not, everything should be pretty stock default

i don't know what causes your crashes but i did a quick search and found out DLSS might be sus. trying to disable DLSS or rearranging your DLSS settings might help.

i play at high settings. i have a 2060, ryzen 5 and 16 GB RAM. i had a few crashes a week ago but my game was on HDD not SSD. so i installed cyberpunk to SSD and everything is great for now.

one thing i noticed is Dogtown causes performance issues.

this is all i can help with, sorry i couldn't do more but you know.
have fun

I had a lot of crashes last week, really difficult to reproduce why it crashes. Last testing I did two days ago it seemed that it is related to PL, maybe even the Chimera Core, because every save created post receiving Chimera Core seems to crash the game. But I just tried it today and could not reproduce the crashes again.

My game also randomly crashes, and it's the only game on my PC that does so. At first I thought it was due to using Reshade but even when Reshade is uninstalled, I'll play for like 30 minutes, everything seems fine, temps fine, then randomly crashes to desktop, no warning or error message, just instant crash.

the problem continues. and now it completely freezes the computer

What does Windows event viewer say? Any failed component or hung drivers in the moment of the crash?

I am also experiencing crashes after deciding to give the game another go a few days ago. I used to be able to play with this exact rig at some earlier point, likely sometime around 1.6, for about 40 hours.

The crashes I'm experiencing are hard freezes, meaning that the entire computer stops responding (incl. capslock light on the keyboard etc.) and needs to be forced to reboot via the physical button.

I determined that in my case the crashes are triggered by saving the game, be that auto-, quick- or manual save. Could that be the case for you guys as well @Flog @Serial Pousseur @Syfo?

Some more context information:

The crashes occur
  • unregularly with a chance of roughly 40% each time the game is saved
  • both for my playthrough from the old save games as well as after starting a new game; it's notable that crashes only started occuring after roughly 15-40 minutes of gameplay (roughly after being fired in the corporate intro storyline )
  • regardless of whether cross-platform saving, ray tracing, DLSS or HDD mode are activated
  • after validating the game files, un- and reinstalling my graphics driver as well as completely wiping and reinstalling the game
  • after wiping the entire savegame folder
  • after disconnecting secondary and tertiary monitors as well as closing anti-virus software (as well as all other tools and programs)
  • after deleting the DX cache in AppData/[...]/NVIDIA
  • after disabling the cloud synchronization of save files via GOG

My setup:
  • Windows 10 Education 64-Bit (10.0, Build 19045)
  • Intel i9-10900K
  • 64GB RAM
  • RTX 3080
  • the game is installed on my primary drive, a M2 NVME

Go to control panel, configure surround physX and select the main graphic card. Also, disable dlss, or use the amd one, the rtx one caused problems for me. Hope this helps

Game crash for me as well but right on launch. Does not go further than launcher. Crashed started only after latest patch. I have really decent rig and none of other games does it. Can play without any issues. Only CP 2077 crashes. Played game before patch and all was top perfect. Not even single crash. I came back now after a while and wanted replay game - impossible, can't even start.

Tried reinstall game, repair files. I do not have mods at all. All drivers updated. Also nothing else runs in background.
Rig itself: i9-13.9k, 4090 RTX, Windows 11, 32gb ddr5.
